I was just thinking that I would give my left nut to be back living on the GC. Why aren’t I? Money.
I live in Shitney because I want to set myself up. I wonder if this is the same for players, there is so much cash for media, endorsements, fan nights etc that a player can easily add big dollars to their footy wage.
If the Collingwoods of the world are offering your missus a high paying job and guaranteed income from the above sources then we can’t compete.

I have nothing to back this up but I reckon Rory will be going, he was linked to he Hawks a year ago and as I understand it hasn’t signed a new contract. Happy to be proven wrong

I really doubt Rory will be going anywhere, he is a Gold Coast lad through and through and is really settled here. I’ve been out fishing with him a few times and had good chats about his footy he isn’t he type to leave and chase success is happy just playing at his local AFL team.

Don't get too caught up , Big IF and discussion .
If Jack Martin / Ah Chee request to go back to WA this year , what is their value .

We wouldn’t get anything near that for Martin. As much as we would like it
I hope he don't request to go home then. I value him more than other because he can play in any position except Ruck .

He's out of contract next year, not this year. Recent interview implies he is definitely staying too.

Maybe some Dockers that would like to move away and try a new club. Apparently, the scuttle about the players unrest at Adelaide is also true maybe some opportunities there as well

I do remember hearing Lachie Weller talking about a few players at Fremantle that were pretty interested in the move to the GC. Should have a crack at getting someone like Connor Blakely

No harm trying if players there are not happy . Chris Mayne look like doing ok at Collingwood .

Other side of the coin housing much more expensive in Melb Syd than Gold Coast .If prices drop as expected than any benefits living in Melbourne go out the
window very quickly. Plus look at this weather 24d compared to 11d surely some incentive.

Excuse my intrusion gents

I cant seem to see any comments about 2 players with queensland ties in any of the posts
Harry Himmelberg (gws) and his Brother Elliot Himmelberg

I would have thought these 2 boys would have been ideal trade targets for the suns
Harry already showing he is a top notch foward and Elliot a good prospect as a defender

Issue being they have already spent as much time at their current clubs as they had in Queensland. both were only there for such a short amount of time that they couldn't qualify for our academy. I doubt there would be a 'go-home' factor there.

Not just a go home factor, Its always easier to go to a familiar place specially when reuniting 2 brothers at the 1 club - Always a bonus
Now combine that with a salary that GWS cant match and Crows wont match to me thats a no brainer

Genuine question not looking for controversial , IF GC not matching on Koenan and Graham in ND draft but make the top 8 in two years time , isn't it better to gave up second Rd pick like Saad for them later . They going to play in NEAFL for the next few year anyway, If May,Day and Thompson extend their contract .

* I rate both of them(Koenan and Graham ) but just don't think they can develop fast enough to step into ÀFL if senior players injured in AFL and help GC move up the ladder .

On the couch team going on about how how great Oliver is for the Demons. Another Clayton master stroke to give up pick 3, where Melbourne swooped and took him.
How bad a decision was it I hear you ask? Well he would be our best mid already at 21yo

Phark up, give Clayton one thing he was consistent, a consistent asshat

Wonder if we could tempt one of the Freo tall defenders with a promise for more playing time
We have seen our KPD depth is pretty poor requiring KK / JJ to play on opponents too big for them in recent weeks

Jack Leslie.. I just don't think he's got it in him. Athletically its all there but decision making pretty poor, positioning I don't think is great either. Plus provides 0 rebound. With Rory a very similar type...just much better, some diversity would be good.

Ideally Thompson on best forward, 2nd tall on the next big and then Steven May playing to floating role.

Freo have lots of good young tells.
- Pearce, Duman, Logue, Hamling, Luke Ryan (as your floating defender), Shane Kersten playing back as well.
- Pearce and Hamling in every week they are fit.
- Ryan probably your 3rd tall.

Could we tempt Duman / Logue with game time?
Only young so Freo wouldn't want to let them go.
Log from WA I think, unsure about Duman
Just a thought.

Think we should persevere with Leslie. Look at Majak Daw. ‘Should have’ been delisted 3 years ago. Has been on an AFL list for years and didn’t look like he would ever put it together but as a key defender this year he’s really excelled. Some just take time

Don't mind keeping Leslie , if the extra 4 rookie list are true . If not i can't see how GC can fits everybody in without losing senior or Scrimshaw to other club .
Barlow
Rosa
Lynch
Hall
Wigg
First 5 pick in top 30 .
