Carltank have no loyalty, always approach contracted players. They like taking young players ruining their development and then delisting them.

How much more than pick 3 do we realistically think we could get out of a team for Lynch? Even multiple mid-late first rounders wouldn’t be as good as #3. If said club came forward and said they had a good player willing to be exchanged it would change things I guess.

I’m all for matching and forcing the trade as long as it is because we know we have a better offer and not just out of spite to make the other team give up something for him. The last thing we need is to match and have 10days of stagnant negotiations resulting in a lesser trade, while not being able to put time into other deals, like we have in the past.

Pls just do what’s best for the club Cameron. Hopefully no Clayton will prove helpful.

A club wont come forward and say they have a player willing to leave. They'd wait till the Lynch deal was done then come looking for a trade...

Now that we've locked in 17th the only way i can see us forcing a trade is if we had a mid to high tier FA acquisition (though I'm pretty sure the club have said we wont be looking for one.) that would be big enough to push back pick three to end of first round compo.

IMO the best way to play this would be to start talks now with Richmond,Collingwood,Hawthorn or who ever the club Lynch wants to go to and lay down the terms of this deal to be worked out.

Select 4-5-6 player that are on their list that GC would take and try to get 1 to agree to a move, Once this is settled and agreed to just do a trade for unders for the said player and take the compo pick.

E.g Brandon Ellis to Gold Coast for pick #39-#49
plus you get the compo

Reading it make me vomit , I rather AFL don’t give GC sun 1 pp but allow 4 extra list spots for mature age players , Caltank tank until they are obsessed with First round pick .

Oh totally can be nervous, but a manager wouldn't be doing their due diligence if they weren't looking at their option for their clients.

Hey peel long time no chat! I chundered everywhere too mate. Sickening to think they'll be getting more help and assistance for their own stupidity including trading out senior players, taking GWS second tier players and delisting their young talent which they failed to develop! They do love their first round picks since 2005 they've had 4 number 1 picks overall. Since 2000 they've had 10 selections within the top 10 of the first round. They've also had a lot of picks hovering around the 10-20 mark of the first round too check out the below pics.

You're right I suppose that is a player managers role trying to get the best 'fit' for their client but it's all about the money even for the player managers.

Yeah that's most likely ST hopefully it is the latter.

Wants out of st Kilda he kicked 4 on the weekend against the Hawks.
Only managed the 10 games this year kicked 15.9 and averages 6 score involvements a game this year.
Sounds like he wants a fresh start and more opportunity

Twomey was keen on us taking the king twins back on the GCSUNSCAST a month ago.
I see the value in that. Recruit KPP replacements for future and aim to bring in ready made mids i.e lloyd/newman etc now.

If we went with picks 2+3 id prefer we take lukosious and rankine to eliminate go home factor and get some genuine x factor into the club.
But this time last year we were salivating over LDU and we all know how that turned out so at this stage i wont get my hopes up.

We have to assume the Suns management are taking the right steps to prevent the go home factor. The tin shed vs new facilities is a major improvement thats been made. The focus on 4 qtr effort and competitiveness this year forms the basis of next years building platform which also builds the clubs culture and chances of success...next year Suns need to keep "defence first" focus but begin to hit more targets, especially inside 50 to be able to score more often. Defence and wins will build culture but how the players bond and the spirit around the club has to go to the next level too...on the right track IMO. So during trade and draft period the target should simply be, whats the best player available?

Thats a question best answered by his agent, Paul Connors. I just hear snippets but I havent seen anything inappropriate from any club.

For sure, I hope Jack is not caught up in the go home factor or any criticism of the GC or from the GC of him. He wanted to go there and wants to stay if the plan is to develop and play him as I see it.

Interesting from my perspective, hes been emergency now 4 or 5 weeks out of 6 begs a question or two? If hes not played this weekend? What is the thinking behind that?
