Litherland seemed ok for the Hawks but was quite thin from memory.
Good to know there are a few options around.
Not many really tall guys - suppose if you are good and 195+ then you're in the AFL.
Agree , I won't trade May out this year no matter what happen. There is another left field player I can think of but I don't think club will pick him up .
Matthew Uebergang - ( Glenelg -SANFL) - former Fremantle rookie list player / Redland . 1.94m

No trade for me even if May asks for it. We need every prime player possible next year while young players are developing and we will still get a good compensation next year. He can sulk for not being captain as much as he wants. At least he can focus on his game which for most part of this year was very ordinary except several quarters here and there. To see Hawkins taking him to school was disheartening. Only a year ago May had him covered easily. A bit like Lynch, both desperately want to play finals and are fed up losing, body language terrible.

I'm told Steven is very good one on one not so much as a group leader.

May needs Thompson to be an A Grader IMO..

If Sam Day and Thompson injured you only have Collins to step in , need more mature body KPP .Swingmen the better .

Honestly hoping to pick up Lloyd and McVeigh from swans, maybe GHS from the cats and someone like Wallis/Dalhaus from the dogs plus 4-5 draftees. Need to bring in some b grade talent at least.

Maybe I need to re-watch the the game.
I hardly saw May man up on Hawkins Leslie started on him.
Dew said post game they just rotated play on Hawkins he even said at one point they sent Lemmens down back to play on him

Jack Frost might be delisted from Bris?
Obviously not a starter level player but could be acceptable depth

Dirk Koenen will be 19 at the start of the year and should be inserted into the defence as soon as his form warrants. With tall talent like Day, Wright, Thompson and Crossley holding down the key positions, players like May, Ballard and Koenen are very useful weapons to have at Dew's disposal in order to provide marking targets and transform the Suns from being the lowest contested marking team to one of the highest. I'm an unabashed fan of May being sent forward where he can be the focal target and free up difficult to match talls like 2MP and Goober while also using his foot skills to put Sexton, Martin and MacPherson in range of goal.
Caleb Graham will be another with potential to provide the mobile tall player we have lacked all season and IF the Suns choose Lukosius he will be an instant plug and play, probably on a wing but possibly in attack. However, I prefer Rankine as a better fit given we likely already have plans for Koenen and Graham. That said, the idea of drafting both Lukosius and Rankine is an extremely smart move, even if I don't think the Suns should settle for pick #3 as compo for Lynch.

can anyone post that article in full in the Bully claiming Barlow and Risca are getting another year
I can't access the article anymore sorry but there was nothing new in it.
They just quoted what Dew said in the press conference after Saturday game.
A journo ask Dew if Barlow and Rischitelli will play on next season and Dew just said he will have a chat to both of them on Monday then said they might need to keep some of the older guy around to help the age profile of the list

THE relatively young age of the Gold Coast Suns list could be enough to prolong the careers of veterans Michael Rischitelli and Michael Barlow.

Suns coach Stuart Dew said he was wary of keeping some experience at the club going into 2019 and any decision surrounding Rischitelli, 32, and Barlow, 30 would be made with the whole group in mind.

“They’re two that we’ll have discussions with,” Dew said.

“You’re just a bit wary of whether you change everyone. I think you’ve got to keep some (experienced) people around as well.

“We don’t want to get too young. We’ve just got to weigh up the whole mix. They won’t be decisions in isolation. We’ve got to look at the whole squad and what we think we need.”

Rischitelli has played 20 games this season and found a home at halfback while Barlow has played just two, including the final game of the season where he collected a team-high 35 possessions in Gold Coast’s 22.10 (142) to 5.10 (40) loss to Geelong.

Dew said the club would make decisions surrounding the futures of many Suns players by around the end of today (Monday).

Gold Coast have been clear about their strategy of going after the best talent available in the draft while targeting mature-age players who can improve the list.

Last year’s recruits Aaron Young, 25, and Nick Holman, 23, were consistent contributors for Gold Coast this season and Dew said the club would be looking for players of the same ilk.

“It’s a mix of bringing in some top-end draft picks but also looking for Nick Holman, Aaron Young types,” Dew said.

“I think they’ve been great for our footy club, not only on the ground, they’ve been durable, played all year and provided good leadership.

“Those guys that are looking for that second chance or another opportunity and are desperate to play and make Gold Coast their footy club, I’m sure there’s players like that out there and if they’re anything like those two individuals, we’ll open the doors.”
