On another note surely no one is believing this crap about Goddard coming to us? It would be treacherous for our list and the development of our youngsters. If we want someone to be a mentor for our youngsters then we don't need someone who will be abusing them, demotivating them, belittling them and taking their confidence away. They need a good positive role model not an old grump who has little man syndrome and anger issues.

Suns have already said they are not interested

I know we did earlier but there was an article in trade whispers on fox sports website which indicated otherwise today.
Was that the jimmy bartel one ?

The fox sports news channel keep re-playing a clip every hour of Bartel going on a rant on his breakfast radio show about why the Suns need to pick up Goddard.

Think jimmy had a big night out Sunday because he wasn't making much sense in the clip

If May and Martin left on top of Lynch, you’d just about have to give Dew the coach of the year award in 2019 if we could scratch together 4 wins next year.

Realistically, there is no way the club will allow that much talent to exit in one offseason. Lynch and Hall will go. They’ll have no option but to hang onto May and Martin. We need some readymade talent out there to be competitive and continue to give the young blokes hope, otherwise the next ones out the door will be the Ainsworth, Ballards, Brodies, and Scrimshaws when they stop to see any light at the end of the tunnel.

Hehehehehehe thanks . Finally get the bait respond that I expected . Time to sleep mission accomplished.
Bait your own supporters? Well done

Not necessarily, trading May could potentially see 4 players into the club. A few rookies and some readymades. It’s surprising what clubs can put up for something they want bad enough...

I can’t see us winning if we trade out Maysie. Plus list spots would have to be freed up to accommodate so many new players.

Tom Morris report on 3aw tonight that jack Martin will ask for a trade

I just listened to the recording, Tom Morris doesn’t say Jack Martin will ask for a trade. He says Jack Martins name is getting floated around other clubs trying to get him. A lot different to Jack asking for a trade.

I reckon every year since Jack has been with the suns other clubs would of been floating his name to try and get him so nothing in this i would say.

Gday Suns fans. I'm doing a series of list breakdown articles on The Roar, and today it's you. I won't lie to you, I'm not looking at things through rose coloured glasses, but I've attempted to look at some innovative strategies the club could pursue rather than just trying to carve up the list for who suits which Victorian club best as most writers will no doubt do. And, if it helps, I believe most of the problems are not of your own making but instead the legacy of a really poor effort done by the AFL in how they set you up. Anyway, click here to have a read if you'd like to - you may not agree with what I have to say, but I guarantee you won't find a more in-depth examination anywhere else.

Your research is off with Swallow, has recently said that he wants a long term deal at the Suns.

Swallow has already publicly stated he wants to sign another contract in the off season, loves the suns, the Gold Coast and has 0 intention of leaving

Also Charlie Ballard and Wil Powell had their initial rookie contracts extended. Ballard probably one of our most promising young players and Powell a promising first round pick. Neither were extended because ‘no one else would offer them a contract’

You for sure did not do homework on Swallow who as recently as 2 weeks ago declared to be keen to sign long-term with Suns after season is over. Another glaring mistake is your evaluation of Ballard who was the best thing this year for Suns. Ballard was absolute steal with pick 42 and has potential to be A player. I suggest you to watch him. No mentioning travel nightmare, horrendous injury list, club changes happening as we speak - new assistant coaches (one is Drummond from North), new performance team. Plenty more could be addressed in your article.

You do realise that every Gold Coast draftee (apart from Caddy) has signed at least one contract extension along the way? We aren’t based in Beirut. Player retention isn’t an issue if you get things right on field. We didnt and some Prima donnas have come up with some fanciful reasons to return home since.
It’s a major rebuild and a lot of what you say is not going to happen. There is no magic fix to 7 years of list mismanagement and stuff ups.
It will take 3 years of bringing in young talent first

Not gonna bother clicking thanks for heads up. I hate poorly researched journalism.
