I just can't see where he would fit into the team with list spots pretty limited right now. If he's a 'list clogger' in the team that came 3rd last, he'll be a list clogger for us too

Well his contract has expired and you'd think he'd be heading back to the Coast if St Kilda don't recommit
I guess if he's delisted we might pick him up on a rookie spot?
I just can't see anyone trading for him- but we did give The Eagles 2 free second rounders and paid pick 2 for his brother so anything's possible at The Suns
Surely our blood oath to the Wellers has been paid in full by now?

If it was to be a trade i would assume it would be a nothing pick as the saints would have no hand to play and can just leave

Lachie Weller told me earlier this year that he was hoping his brother would come back to the Suns. I could see him playing a similar role to Holman or Lemmens, if either of them were out injured. It is hard to see how we'd have room for him on our list, unless we lose some players we don't want to lose. On recent experience, that's bound to happen. Therefore I think we're a strong chance to recruit Mav as a rookie.

I don't think Scrimshaw has been "starved of opportunities" at the Suns. He wouldn't have had any more opportunities at any other club. If he got fit & showed enough form, he'd get at least as many opportunities at the Suns as anywhere else. I'd like to see him try to make it at the Suns next season, but from what I've read in this thread, I'd guess he's leaving.

Of the delistings only one I'm disappointed with is Spence (outside of Barlow). I thought he showed something as a third tall, but we go okay for those positions. Always sad to see local guys get let go.

So many people in here complain about some of the bullshit the media makes up and turns into a story (myself included, I may have called Jon Ralph out on his bullshit) but there seems to be a few amongst us that are happy to start up rubbish stories of speculation that gain traction and all of a sudden become fact. If you come in here and start stating that "you heard" or "I know someone who said..." then I immediately dismiss it as bullshit until I see something more concrete from either the player or the club, I'm sure others do as well so you are not giving yourself much credibility here. Unfortunately some people here like to run with it and in the case above and turn nothing into something, this information likely gets back to the player who no doubt starts to question what the **** he is training so hard for at a club that seems to constantly be asking whether he's good enough or should be swapped out for a second round pick. (Jesus)

No doubt this sows the seeds of resentment, making the whole thing a bit of a self fulfilling prophecy when the player eventually gets sick of it and tells the club and supporters to get ****ed and moves on. If you don't know anything, or if you are just speculating, maybe shut the **** up for a minute and consider what you are proposing to put down and whether it actually contributes to the conversation in either a meaningful or factual way.

Me, I generally just like to shit post and lurk around looking for genuine information on the club (it's why I signed on to Bigfooty in the first place) so I don't want to appear to be elevating myself above some of the shit contributed here and I'm happy to be called out for the little that I do contribute but Jesus this board can wear you out sometimes with the amount of crap that gets regurgitated through it from unreliable sources.

I'm glad I'm not a Collingwood or Richmond supporter though and only have to deal with a handful of plebs amongst mostly good quality posting here.

Me I just like the facts or to say things I know to be true at the time. Surely players need to think about their future also, somebody like Scrimshaw could end up like Hugh Goddard , Kiera Collins , toumpass if not careful with their development . A lot of people said Players selfish , do people think about Club doing the same too when come to delisting and selecting players for AFL games or NEAFL ,VFL,WAFL ,SANFL.

One thing that's been annoying me is a few reports people have heard on radio or random places that some player has asked for a trade without posting a link. Then when you go back and listen to it they were clearly just speculating. I appreciate people posting news about the club but don't misquote them or better yet just post the link and let us make up our own mind.

Let me reiterate, I would like Scrimshaw to tough it out & prove his worth with the Suns next year. If that's what he wants too, he'll get a lot of support here. He could put paid to most of the rumours by pledging support in an interview or on social media.

He was physically underdone when he made his AFL debut in 2017, but had good reasons for that. He looks like he's ready for another crack. I think he'll get his chance in 2019 & I hope that's at the Suns. He's definitely got talent.
