Think we may have dodged a bullet with Harbs resigning Jack Martin was wanting to leave and may now resign because Harbs recommitted

He would be a massive loss. Probably the classiest player on our list.

Losing May and him along with the others really is a worse case scenario

Think you mentioned that you had been given some bad news about a player earlier this week
Was it in relation to Jack?

I wouldn't resent jack if he left.. imagine him look at caddy breust and those types kick 50 goals a season with bulk i50s knowing he has at least the talent to match them would be frustrsting.. these fellas getting aa honours, finals success etc but I hope like hell he stays

If Lynch, May, Martin and potentially others are looking to get out then we have some serious issues happening behind the scenes.
Is Dew being harder on the group and they resent it our is it the opposite, either way we seem to be continuing this downward spiral as if there is no hope for success in their career if they stay at the Suns.
Put this together with opposition players and managers not interested in the Suns and its a tough time to be a Suns supporter

We should all jump on the Tigers, 14-15 home games a year, little travel, can poach players for no cost, how can they lose :(

And every final including the Grand Final at your home ground
Winner winner chicken dinner
But if the AFL increased our salary cap by 10% or increased our list to include 3 State League players well my oh my
Shock!Horror!Gifts to interstate clubs!Chicken Little alert!
I've wondered if we could get Stadiums Queensland to insist we play 12 matches at Metricon as part of our lease?

I would be really worried if we had had any form of success in the last 3 years.
But we have been woeful.

Should be no real surprise that players that have been here for 5+ years are thinking of moving on. We should be trying hard to keep them, but it is only human to check out other places.

Those that stay get my everlasting loyalty (even if they stuff up off-field and can't kick), but those that have stayed for 5+ years when we have largely been putrid, and then left, get my understanding. Plus heaps of booing and un-well wishing.

I think we are paying for the past mistakes. Lynch, May are in the same boat. Both fed up with losing for 8 years, want to play finals, don't want to go through another rebuild. If you read Harbrow's interview he was close to retiring because not winning.

Even if Suns did everything right starting with Evans appointment we will probably still loose more players. It was telling when Lynch's agent said that Lynch wished Dew came 4 years earlier. Also Harbrow's had great words how Dew helped him and his family. So I don't think it's Dew, it's just consequences of the crap the first 7 years caused by hopeless setup by AFL.

I prefer to focus on positives otherwise it's too depressing. After this off season we should be ready to go upward, slowly but steady. Assistant coaches, performance team clean up, development/welfare teams boosted/revamped. Swallow, Harbrow and young players endorsement of changes, draftees re-signing. It will turn sooner or later when most things will be in place. Normal schedule and no game in China is a good start.

I understand the guys wanting success but have they looked in the mirror, have they done all they can to bring success?

Lynch, going so the answer is no
May pouting, no
Martin, always injured, has he built his body, no

It’s so millennial to want the easy road. If Richmond win a flag with Lynch does he deserve it? No

Don't really matter Lynch deserve it or not a flag is still a flag - Mitch Morton ,Mike Pyke , Lewis Robert Thomson .

Harsh
He got whacked in his first match as a skinny fearless kid in 2014 and suffered the consequences for 2 years but got himself right and was our most resilient player in 2016/17 with 21 and 22 games should have won the B+F
Played 15 game this year too
58 games out of a possible 66 in the past 3 years- that's elite endurance

Yeah,, ok fair call

This guy sounds like exactly what we need. Couldn’t possibly be worse than a number of players we’ve currently got.
That is why I don't think GC will trade away their third round pick , if the priority access to mature age are coming after the ND draft .

Wouldn't it make more sense for the Priority access to State league players to be before the draft, to stop other clubs selecting them during the draft?

Gold Coast’s Head of Development Shaun Hart says the club will be looking to add more experience to its list during this year’s trade period.

The Suns endured a difficult 2018 season, recording just four wins and finishing the year in 17th position on the ladder.

While Brisbane great Hart highlighted the importance of acquiring young top-end talent, the need to complement that youth with experienced players is something the expansion club is keen to do.

“A combination of both (experience and youth),” Hart told SEN’s Whateley.

“Without a doubt we’ll get a big influx of young talent, but the reality is we need some senior people, some senior bodies and some really great leaders.

“The Luke Hodge type, of course, would be really nice and we need those guys to be able to really help our younger group understand what it is to be an AFL person and an AFL footballer.

“To live a professional lifestyle and achieve certain training and life standards to be able to make sure we help them become the performers they need to become.”

Gold Coast have the youngest list in the competition and are crying out for an injection of leadership within its ranks.

Stuart Dew’s side holds pick two in this year's AFL draft, and is expected to get another high pick as compensation for the departing Tom Lynch.

Yes otherwise it’s not really priority is it. But this is the AFL we are talking about .:p
You get it . Picks are in GC hand , but all this priority access to state league players are up to AFL . To be honest priority access to state league players will benefit more to Carlton as the bottom team more than GC because they get the first access .
Always remember AFL will help Carlton first before GC . If AFL don't offer anything in ND Draft , GC still get 4-5 top 30 18 years old kids with pick 38 and 41 as backup for mature age players .

Hoping they go for a VFL player first and leave Pickett to us.
