Could still be growing which would be good!
I want him at the suns. My favourite player in the draft by a mile
RCD had tapered off during the year but has been BOG in the last 2 TAC finals - coming home hard
hope he is still there with our west coast pick. Plenty of improvement left in him

I’d prefer Smith over Walsh should Carlton surprise and go Lukosius at #1.
I’d like to see us try to trade up the West Coast pick. Can see RCD going early teens.

Once I heard that we were interested in Rozee I had a look at his highlights from last week and thought that while it may be a slight reach I don't think we would be disappointed - has real class, elite foot skills and looks one of the most versatile players in the draft - can play back or forward equally as well, and could probably roll through our midfield already.

Agree I think he could be in that next tier from 9-15

Need to see where that Priority Pick lands if it is around the 11-12 range.

Suns should offer North #17+#29 for #11

They would jump at that and use #17 for Polec whilst having #29 for points for Thomas

All depends on if they really love someone that they don't feel will last to the Eagles pick - at this stage you could throw a blanket of players from 9-20

I reckon RCD will shoot up the Draft boards for most clubs. The number of bids for club-tied players will determine how late he's available. Rhylee West, Will Kelly, Nick Blakey, Connor McFadyen, Jarrod Cameron and Tarryn Thomas could all attract bids to be matched before RCD gets called, or he goes anywhere in between. I think it raises the question of how clubs treat nominated players this year. In the past, they have been sometimes attracted early bids or drifted way past where they would normally have been picked.

In 2015, there were 5 players in the first round who were bid on and had their bids matched, with 11 bids overall and 2 not matched. There were 4 such players in 2016 in the first round, with 9 bids overall and only 1 of the last 5 matched. Yet in 2017 there were zero bids for tied players in the entire draft.

Sydney seem to be the most aggressive with early bids, which could cost them if they are forced to match for Blakey at a higher price than they'd like, while Bailey Scott could nominate wherever he likes but Geelong won't be able to match an offer that comes too early and who knows what North will do with so many tied players.

I do love making first teams for the following year. This is assuming both May and Lynch leave

Joyce - Thompson - Harbrow
Hanley - Day - Scrimshaw
Bowes - Swallow - Weller
Macpearson - Wright - Ainsworth
Sexton - Martin - Holman

Witts - Brodie - Lyons

Miller - Young - Ah Chee - Fiorini
That is assuming our entire team was fit is how I would set us up. Obviously there are some major holes up forward and down back. Though I like the smaller forward line I think Martin needs to be left up forward, he can take a grab for sure and can lay a tackle. Wright can lead up as well.

I don't trust Day as a full time KPD but he is the best we have at the moment, I prefer him over Leslie. Scrimshaw to play the KK role as the marker out of the defence.

Bench gives a bit more midfield rotation as well as another small forward and small defender.

Major holes, but when the team is fit the team doesn't look like dross.

Collier-Dawkins will look good at the combine so I agree that he will shoot up draft boards. Still think he has a hell of a lot of improvement left in him. Has all the physical tools to be a super star

Yeah, he's got size and could probably add more. There are players like Bailey Smith and Max King who are done for the year and won't have full participation at the Combine. Not suggesting those two will drop far, but there will be those that impress the right club enough that they get called earlier than anticipated.

I think the Suns should try to do a deal with the Cats to trade the WC pick for pick #11. Cats aren't allowed to trade their 1st rounder this year because they do it every year, but they can if they trade back and stay in the first round. Just outside of the top 10 is where you'd expect RCD or another top talent to slide to.

GHS and Miles need to fit into this. I also like Day playing in the back line. That Hawks game was the best he ever played this year before he did his shoulder. Used his pace and broke some lines. Great to see.

Not a bad squad. I feel our our problem has always been depth and injuries. The depth gets thrown into the fire because we always have so many injuries. A big offseason coming up. We could really start building the depth. Just please, please, PLEASE stay healthy

A season like the Lions had with injuries this year would really help us surprise I reckon.

Good list. For me missing Ballard and picks 2, 3.

Just saw that RCD went to my old school, Salesian College Chadstone, which I think has not produced any AFL footballers in the last 40 years (more known for soccer due to the high proportion of Greeks/Italians who attend), so I'll be repping for him wherever he goes.

At least if Suns get him he won't be a prissy private school boy as Salesian is definitely not that type of school

Assume Dawson, Heron, Crossley will be preferred as locals based on Dew statements. Selection showed support to develop these guys in 2018 as well as Ballard and Powell, likely theyd be starters next season.

U do know the best players get private school scholarships from about yr 8?

You mean Steven May didn't get an Academic Scholarship to Grammar???
It would have been a “General excellence” scholarship, you cant expect schools to tell it how it is in this politically correct world, can you????

tom langdon from collingwood is supposedly out of contract at the end of this season. wouldn't mind going after him, only 24 years old and from the pies games i've watched he seems serviceable. if may goes to collingwood i'd be happy if he was apart of some form of trade.

also looks like his younger brother ed langdon is out of contract next year. could be another target if the club is looking to try get players at the club who are mates, like the 4 draftees from the other year, or in this case brothers.

That would be the trade i would be demanding if i was the Suns and May selected the Magpies
Langdon + Pies 1st rounder

would prefer their 2019 first rounder but yeah I would take that. Blanketed Greene last night

Maynard played on Greene last night

Just a question as im not having a go at you but find it really strange you would say you prefer their 2019 1st rounder when just about every post we read from the suns supporters are saying picks mean nothing and we need quality players who will stay and create a culture and winning team and continuity

But with this you mention you rather a pick
