Played as a lock-down defender for Fremantle so was maybe utilised incorrectly. Interesting to see how he goes next year.

Getting rid of Kolodjashnij is just stupid. Either his neck is now fixed and he will get back to the form that had him projecting as one of the preeminent rebounding defenders in the comp, or it's no good and Melbourne will identify that during the medical and value him as a 4th/5th rounder hail mary pick.

If they trade high for him, watch for him to regain his form and make the club look stupid. Good players always re-find form if their body allows.

Also, Dew saying in an interview a couple of weeks ago that Barlow couldn't get a game because he could only play inside mid, and they wanted players who could play multiple roles, then followed it up by identifying Miles and Horlin-Smith as two players from other clubs who could offer that.

Miles is slow and one-dimensional and Horlin-Smith is literally the slowest mid-sized player I have seen playing at AFL level in the last few years, and without any standout attributes, cannot see how he could play a position other than inside mid effectively either.

Interesting times.
Hall and Kolodjashnij don't really fit Dew's gameplan and neither would be in the best 22 of the season. As an outsider looking in you probably haven't seen that many Suns games, but Kolo had a couple of shockers and got dropped when the team had about 27 fit players on the list. Better to trade them and get some value.

The comments about multiple roles were kind of aimed at recruitment at the Draft where the Suns have a couple of shots at getting some elite talent - Lukosius and Rankine are both multiple role players.

I think there is some similarities in Ross Lyon and Dew view about player playing multiple role and then get Conca and Miles type , just like Fremantle keeping Sheridan , Suban D.peaece and let Mzungu , Barlow and Deboer go , don't ask me why they are the coach and get paid for it .

I understand that he has been out of form for the last couple of years, but he will find form again if his neck is good again. Mark my words. A player playing like he did in first couple of seasons is a best 22 player in any team that has ever existed.

And no, the comments I read were re Miles & Horlin-Smith:
HOW TO IMPROVE THE SUNS LIST

• Dew said the club needed to bring in midfielders who can play multiple roles going into 2019.

• “We need midfield depth but I think we have a fair few insiders so I think we need some guys who can play multiple roles as well because if you have too many one dimensional players than guys get parked in line,” Dew said.

• “We need guys who can play midfield but can also play forward and half-back I think both inside and outside.

• “We have got some players who can do that but you would love more options.”

• Dew said Richmond’s Anthony Miles and Geelong’s George Horlin-Smith were both intriguing potential recruits who could be targeted by the club but believed Sydney’s Nick Newman was unlikely to leave the Swans.

• “(Horlin-Smith) is probably similar in that he has been there seven or eight years. They are guys to look at. He is probably one you look at and go well he can play a number of positions, he comes from a good system, has good training habits and good durability.

Sounds to me like he thinks they are capable of playing multiple roles effectively. I'll believe it when I see it.

I know this is a long shot but would the Suns accept..

Dom Tyson, 2019 1st round pick, pick 33, pick 45, another pick in the 40s (what we get for Kent)

For

Steven May and Kade Kolodjashnij
Will you throw in a prostate check since your already bending us over ?

Can we give you some magic beans for Hogan, now before you answer remember these are MAGIC beans

Kk has played a handful of games and would be known the past 2 years for his head knocks etc.
Has zero currency lucky to get a third rd pick

As for Hall. Again lucky to get a third rd pick..

Your better off trying to get them to find form

then trade them after a reasonable season then hand off 2 players who could be worth a late first by the end of 2019 for a third rd picks

Hall is definitely gone getting ready to move to Melbourne.(NORTH)
Both Hall and KK two of the biggest disappointments for the Suns over the past couple of years.
Neither are of any value trade wise probably 3rd rounders at best.
Hall has obvious talent but his inability to do any team things makes him a liability.
KK has gone backwards in a huge hurry ,yes has had injury concerns but supposedly these were fixed over summer,
yet still had a very poor year.
Very limited to where he plays has no defensive skills whatsoever, lacks physical presence, not super quick and most concerning to
me was a total lack of awareness of players around him.
A change of clubs may give him the hunger he needs to find confidence in his game again.
I wish him well because he is a good kid.

I saw on the afl website we aren’t even interested in Collins anymore

AFL.com.au
understands McAdam, Corbett and West Adelaide swingman Chris Burgess are Gold Coast's three targets with its three pre-draft concession picks.

Yah sorry Collins , Burgess more versatile.

Wow yeh, just read that.
McAdam, Corbett & Chris Burgess are our 3 targets. Interesting.

Edit: And still draft Pickett, not taking as a state league priority.

Burgess: “Chris has terrific AFL qualities and can play as a defender, forward or wingman so I’m not surprised there’s been a lot of interest in him,’’ Mickan said. Think I read he is 194cm.

Kk only played 8 games this year due to his concussion and neck injury.
Bit rough saying he has lack of awareness and needs confidence.

You’d be a bit sheepish too if the doc had said 1 more concussion and your careers over.

They only found out it was neck related towards the end of the year.
So reality is. 2018 was a right off as he was never 100% fit snd firing.

Kk is the best runner and kick at the club.
Finished second in the BF in his second year ahead of lynch swallow prestia etc.

The kid has untapped talent went fit

What sort of player is Burgess?
http://m.afl.com.au/news/2018-08-09/sanfl-watch-another-mcadam-in-the-draft-mix-

Recruited to the club as a key defender, but has also impressed when moved up forward. The 22-year-old has sticky hands, he's deceptively quick and at 193cm, he's difficult to out-mark overhead. Plays a little bit like Crows forward Mitch McGovern, with his ability to play at either end of the ground, strong marking ability and turn of foot. Highlighted his immense potential with a five-goal haul against Adelaide's SANFL side on May 26.

Don’t agree re: his kick.
Looks good because he has long legs and arms
Not always that effective

No way with Hall - his inability to play a team sport and be coached is a cancer in the Suns squad.

Time has run out for Hall - you either give him a long term top dollar contract or you let him go - so pretty easy decision really.

How would you guys feel about:

Carlton trades Picks 1 and, 24, and 25 for Pick 2, 17, and Brodie. (That trade values Brodie at around Pick 17/18. Sweetener probably needed.)

We'd then trade 17 for McGovern, and you guys then take the whip hand and extort the SA clubs for a shot at Lukosius.

It's been reported that our targets are the SA boys (especially Lukosius) with 2 and 3 so doesn't make much sense to trade our way down the draft order.

Scheer and Wigg onto rookie list?

No one is interested in scrimshaw?
So we are shopping him around?
But our asking price to high?

Hrmm

So many unanswered questions

Wonder how the mechanics work to put contracted players onto the rookie list. I would think that you would have to pay them out 100% of their current contract, then pay/offset their rookie wage if re-rookied.

Do the 3 mature age players need to be added to our senior list?

Anyone feel free to have a crack at what the available list spots situation would look like if Wigg/Sheer where re-rookied

We can already dangle pick 2 if we wanted.
Not sure why we need to move up to 1 to do that.

Would rather we kept Brodie then give him away, especially for a late first round pick. Add 2 of the SA boys at 2/3 (or Walsh) without needing to trade up to 1 for them and I don't think we would find the trade all that lucrative.

These are the reasons he's being shopped. If a good enough offer comes in, say 2nd round from Melbourne, then it is time to cut bait. If nothing decent is offered then keep him on a one year prove it deal.

The hour is later for Hall. The Freo game was his Laydown Sally moment and the players themselves wanted him gone. I have been a vocal supporter of Hally, but under Dew he has been exposed as a lazy defender and lacking care for his team mates. North has an early 3rd that Cameron will have his eyes on, though he'll ask for their mid 2nd rounder and they might part with it for a late swap of picks.

if you want Brodie we’ll take pick 1 on its own thanks. Probably one of our most promising young players.

Mark McGowan is a lightweight reporter who specialises in fluff pieces for slow news days. This week he's reporting that Brayden Preuss is looking for more opportunities at the Demons. The logic is flawed as he would be leaving his 2nd ruck position at North after Goldstein to take up 2nd position at the Dees after Gawn who is the best ruck in the comp. Why would he leave a club he's managed to crack the senior team with to play for a club that will keep him in VFL?

I would be disappointed for Scheer if he was to be delisted and re-rookied because he had a good year. I watched him in the NEAFL a lot and his growth is encouraging. He also has a contract until the end of 2019, so it is probably bullshit.

Wigg to the Rookie list makes sense, but his contract situation is unclear.

How about Cripps and Pick 1 for pick 2 and 3?

We will leave extortion of SA clubs with pick 1 to Carlton. So you value Brodie pick 17? How about we offer you pick 17 for Cripps? How would you feel about that?
