Any thoughts/guesses/predictions on what deals get done early or later in the trade period?

Just interested in getting some discussion going on the last day of pre-trade.

Dom Tyson for KK may happen if Tyson wants to come to GC - both high draft picks that have underwhelmed but play in areas of the ground that each team could use more help in.

Only problem is Tyson is a lot like Lyons and he was getting dropped last year for team balance.

KK - Mon-Tue, early according to Cameron so I expect no player involved, 2nd round pick
Burgess, Corbett - Mo-Tue
Hall - North may have to pay more for that stupid video - 2nd round pick rather than 3rd
May - late, pick 5 included
GHS, Ellis, Miles,Townsend - possibly only 3, most early
One more state player depending on other trades - Pickett, Collins, MacAdam, ...
Hombsh - depending on May

Im not sold on Tyson for Kk. This is one where I would prefer a pick or even a 2019 pick.

Tyson is a pure inside midfielder, so doesn't have the versatility that Dew is looking for, and yeah he would probably sneak into the 22 at the moment maybe, but we already have enough pure inside midfielders already. Add Miles and hopefully one of the midfielders around the WC pick/ 2nd round, and I just feel like there is better value there. Especially with the effort it would take to convince him to move away from home.

How many of Swallow, Lyons, Touk, Brodie, Miles, Tyson, Lonergan, etc. can we play? Considering Fiorini, Bowes, Ainsworth, Weller, Martin, etc. will all b going through a well giving us (hopefully) a bit more class.

Jayden hunt could possibly be an option
Loves a good run off half back

Could help cover the loss of Hall and KK

Hunt was one if the most damaging half backers last year.

But this year fell out of favour with goodwin due to injurys and confidence this year only playing 6 games

What do you think you guys will offer for Miles and Corey Ellis? Is pick 38 fair?

There's nothing fair about the AFL, mate.
You get Lynch for nothing and you want us to pay for Miles and Ellis....if I had my way, the receiving Club in any FA deal, should forfeit the equivalent amount of points in the Draft, that the AFL values the outgoing player at. So if Lynch is valued at #3, then Richmond lose the points that #3 is worth, and therefore drops down in the Draft, before they can use their 1st pick.
If that was the case, then yeah #38 for Miles and Ellis might be about right.

If me , knowing that these two players are not your regular best 22 and out of contract either 100+ pick or go pre season ,with Lynch signing a big contract , Miles and Corey Ellis are not obligated to extend their contract with Richmond .

I agree Gold Coast have been dudded with free agency but you got Ablett at his peak.Pick 3 could end up better than Lynch and at least a ten year player. I would sign all your top ten draft picks from this draft to 5 year contracts. We lost Brad Ottens and Stuart Maxfield and have one flag in 39 years. It's Hawthorn and Geelong shafting the system. You should also make an offer for Brandon Ellis, he would thrive up there.

Agree - saw his highlight reel and he looks a poor man's Miller or Lyons.

Probably pass on him, take the pick and draft a player that has a bit more positional flexibility to fit into Dew's game plan.

I think we would get more out of Tyson than KK going forward. Tyson has played 94 games over the last five seasons (including 17 this season, three of which were finals) so durability doesn't seem to be an issue for him. He also averaged over 20 possessions per game in 2018 so he doesn't seem to have issues getting his hands on it. Compare that to KK's limited involvement over the last few years and 16 disposals a game this year. Plus, Kade will likely never play fear free again after what has transpired over the last few years for him. Tyson is likely the better bet moving forward and fits our immediate need in terms of age bracket as a 25yo. You talk about versatility but I honestly think KK is very limited to just a rebounding defender role. We have tried him on the wing and other positions multiple time and he has never had great success anywhere else.

There is no such thing as having too many midfielders. We want to create depth within our midfield in order to build a more competitive list that can handle injuries better.

It's not a case of what's fair. It's a case of what Richmond were able to offer us (for next to nothing) to deter us from matching the Lynch deal. Don't expect much in return.

Tiger supporter need to know that GC are not obligated to give a pick back to them , GC doing them a favour freeing their list spots and salary cap . (Corey Ellis and Miles ) .

Comparing KK with Tyson is like comparing Ballard with Dawson in NEAFL regarding possession .
One playing HB and the other as inside mid .

MM: You said yourself this is your first draft and with the elite talent you've lost or look to be losing, there is an external theory that you're basically starting again. Is that fair?

JH: I don't think we're starting again. There's no doubt that we're still a young list, but we'll take some high-end talent this year with the right character traits. We'll also complement that with some mature-age talent. That will be through the concessions we've been provided with by the AFL, in terms of those three mature-age state leaguers – they'll be specific types we're looking for – but also through the Trade Period some mature-age talent that have, again, been in the system for a period of time who can be good role models to our younger players, in terms of how they prepare and how they live their life.

Despite what we are led to believe by the media, we do seem to have an idea of what we are doing with our list it seems. Adding our picks in this years draft, we believe we have the young talent at the club already, we just have to protect and nurture them into the players they can be. And that young core all do seem to be pushing each other forward, so getting these mature heads in to learn from in the AFL and NEAFL sides should hopefully do wonders for the professionalism and standards which are on the up. In my mind, we are back to 2012. The talent is there and building, but we are still a year or two away from being mature enough to start mounting the wins. Hopefully we are better placed off the field this time to make the most of it.

People forget that GC now have better facilities to welcome the mature age ,GC academy players and new draftees compare to Ablett time . I am totally agree that if players still into Eade era GC need to cut them off .

GHS is a free agent. Probably the one
I found it weird that an end of contract free agent cause so much trouble , can't GC get him in pre season Draft , do Geelong really want to keep him and tight themselve up a list spot .

If you match the Lynch deal, you will either have a player who won't play for you on the list, or a trade which you'll get pick 17, Miles and Cory Ellis. Why would you give away pick 3.We can get good picks for Miles and Cory Ellis if you guys dont want them.

Is kind of a risk game , don't match get pick 3 and wait .Miles and Corey Ellis are not superstar players that every Vic club could be after them . You are not wrong that your club could get good pick for Miles and Corey Ellis from other club , but GC could get them for nothing too if no club go for them . You either keep them or delist them
