Lyons definitely had some sort of ankle surgery. I remember seeing it on his instagram. His whole off-season has been spent in rehab as opposed to holidaying about and then getting surgery in preseason, so that's really good of him.

Assuming we get Tyson and GHS along with Miles, how does that affect our midfield rotations?

Tyson may cop some flack but he is a good inside mid. He's a taller version of Lyons.

I've been thinking about it and I would like Miller to return to that pressure forward role. Replace Lemmens there. He can still rotate through the midfield but I don't think Touk is really doing enough in there unless he's tagging someone.

We really need to try and preserve Swallow more. I don't mind him at half-back or forward. He's played there a few times and gone quite well.

So I would go for the starting centre bounce mids:

Tyson, Lyons, Brodie.

Guys to rotate in at stoppages:

Miles, Swallow, GHS.

Other guys to rotate in:

Miller
Agreed with all of this. We shouldn't be afraid to load up on mids and see who forces their way in to the best starting mids.

Also helps share the load with the kids developing and also Swallow/Lyons doing too much.
Extra rotations should help later in games against teams with deep midfields.
I think we kicked 1 behind in 3-4 last quarters because we didn't have enough mids helping out.
Miles, Ellis, GHS and others who come will do that role.

Don't get the love of Tyson , why would you change current players position after one year under Dew , surely players will improve next year with stability after getting to know Dew system a bit better.

Our midfield is shit. It where we lose every game. We need as much help as bloody possible in there

Always shit or because GC players always get injured and no continuity and stability . FLORINI , Bowes , Brodie ,Martin hardly durable . What make you think Tyson not going to get injured .

Without Tyson our midfield is still looking pretty good for next season. Remembering that we’ll get good improvement from Fiorini, Ainsworth, Bowes and Brodie

FB: Harbrow - Thompson - Joyce
HB: Ah Chee - May - Ballard

C: Weller - Brodie - Bowes
R: Witts - Swallow - Fiorini

HF: Miller - Day - Sexton
FF: Ainsworth - Wright - MacPherson

I/C: Lyons - Lemmens - Hanley - Miles

Bolded players can run through the middle on rotation

We also have GHS expected, Corey Ellis and a few others like Scheer, Dawson etc that could get a look in

Martin not staying ?

Everyone’s gut feeling with May?
Too far gone for him to return? Got the impression from Cameron’s interview that they expect him to nominate Melbourne but want it announced now.
Whereas he shut journos down about Martin who is in exactly the same boat

I've heard a bit of stuff..
The club shopped him around after he didn't want to commit to an extension, so that's why he started talking to other clubs. Since then he's been kept in the dark a bit with what the club wants to do with him.
Apparently there are decent offers on the table to go to St Kilda and Demons that the club would accept but he doesn't want to go to either. So I reckon will either be moved on for unders to a club he would agree to go to or kept on for another year. But that seems unlikely now due to the clubs stance..

With all these inside mids coming in (GHS?/Tyson?/Miles) and Lyons/Swallow/Brodie/Touk already on the list you'd think that'll be curtains for Lonergan this year and Scheer and Dawson next year. thats before you even consider the outside mids, like Fiorini/Weller etc

Apparently you lot are interested in James Parsons being packaged with GHS and a second round pick has been discussed.

Yeah...
NO.

GHS is worth a forth rd at best
And Parsons is outside geelongs top 22

Any less than 3rd round..
no chance

Corbett on trade radio:

- Had already been given a tour of the facilities and loved the community environment in the club mid year

- Got to choose whether to be taken with the suns or nominate for the draft. Chose the Suns.

- Eye injury meant he only got to play half the year. Vision now 100% in both eyes

- Personal goal is just to play as much senior footy as he can. Wants to put himself in the best position possible

- Girlfriend is actually from the Gold Coast, made it an easy decision to move up

- Touk has been in contact plenty to answer his questions and to assist in transitioning up

Agree , consider GC only swap future third Rd for Corey Ellis and Miles , I hope Cameron don't take his foot down, especially dealing with Geelong .
