Please stay Steven! Pick 5 would be awesome but I want to start to win games this year.

Get people believing we can do something and turn ourselves in the right direction.

Our current picks are great as is.

I dont see how he can stay really.
The captain of a club shopping himself around.
Middle of trade week and hasnt told the club his intentions

The club has Touk doing meetings euth potential signings

If he is here next year the club will have him outcasted knowing he’ll leave as a FA

The young players wont look upto him anymore.

Need to cut the losses and start fresh

May will be in the final year of a contract. It’s amazing how players form and effort lifts in the final year of a contract.

Depends who we value and if we think the quality is That much better at 10 than 19.. (from what people say it’s not - renders this trade pointless for us)

may be way off the mark but see what you think..

Have calculated points if hawks come 4th and we come last.. probably about projected positions.

If hawks don’t have the picks to get it done we give them a pick in exchange for something better for us.

I like your Ryan burton idea though. Although port just squeezed out pittard as have enough half back flankers

Hogan's thread is fun right now.. If Freo's offer is true (pick 11 and 2nd round) they got some serious issues. I guess Weller's deal distorted Freo's sense of reality.

Don't get me wrong , I weight up pick 10 and other players available at 19 is not worth helping hawthorn after their supporter complain about O Meara deal .

I think his navicular injury the same as Jack Tregrove. Richmond pull off deal after medical test .

Freo still want to do the deal so the injury is fine most probably. They just use it to get Hogan for cheap. They are difficult to deal with.

The risk is lower , I would throw pick 5 at May but I won't gave up pick 5 with navicular injury May . Same as Weller .
Melbourne had two players thetsame type of injuries , one greatly affected by it and Hogan no guarantee.

* A bit bias because now i want May to stay and become one club player , make May decision easier .

Not to the extent of Trengove's though. Trengove's required multiple surgeries to try and fix, and it still isn't even close to being 100% apparently. Hogan's requires no surgery, just rest and recovery

Also very doubtful that Hawks have anything close to the right currency for May now if the rumour of Wingard is true

I am content with May staying , no need to depend on Melbourne ,Brisbane , Fremantle trade ..

I am the same. People keep saying it's bad for the team culture to keep a player who doesn't want to be there but I would argue letting players leave whenever they're having a rough patch at the club is even worse. May is good friends with many/most of the players you would have to imagine and seeing one of their close friends leave for another club - their captain too nonetheless - would also be a massive negative influence on the playing group. Keep him for the last year of his contract and if he wants to leave then so be it.
With a healthy list hopefully we're on the improve and he decides to recommit during next season anyway.

Don’t forget it was the club who wanted Steven to commit long term and accepted that he’s quite within his rights to see what else was out there before making basically a career defining decision.

Keep Scrimshaw as well , hawthorn don't have the pick and player GC want . As much as I hate to paid him 350-400 K . Maybe he change his attitudes if he play AFL like will Brodie .Everybody go through different stages in life .

From what I've heard on trade radio from Craig Cameron it was us that suggested maybe going back to Melbourne was a better fit, not so much Jack.

But I agree again, would also rather keep him here.

I also definitely prefer May to stay even if he leaves next year. We need as many mature bodies as possible and in his best he is a great player. I believe, if we can stay healthy we will be competitive.
