With limited list spots already and our need to use some latter picks for our Academy Lads I see what we have with 2/3 as a beautiful hand that doesn’t require any clever little buggers playing trade games.

Think that if we’re being smart about it we’ll bank 2/3 and take Lukosius and Rozee/Rankine at those picks anyway. Need to start following the Brisbane method of pairing high draft picks together. getting ‘cute’ with trades could cost us big time, like when we missed Oliver.

Freo are still comparing every deal to Weller and are becoming the biggest tight asses in the AFL. It has to be a win/lose deal for them, not a win/win fair deal.

Karma is a beautiful thing. First Bennell, now they will hopefully miss out on Hogan and we can keep May this year and either keep him long-term or reload again next year with another top 5 pick.

It we get pick 6 the risk becomes that of the elite 8, Blakely goes to Sydney and the King Twins are picked 6 and 7 leaving us with 1 disgruntled twin.

Also depends on how many draftees we take, future trades as well if our 6th pick is 29 or 59. But it has merit.

I don't know whether Brisbane paying higher price for Neale is good or bad , but May Staying could be the best for this refresh GC.

I wouldn't even entertain the idea until probably draft night. And only if a bid at saints or brisbanes picks doesnt eventuate. Every chance adelaide swoop in and offer the world for those picks to get rozee assuming port would select rankine could very well leave us with a king twin.

Yeah it seems likely may stays now but.....
It really hall hinge on freo and brisbane.
Freo playing ridiculous hardball because they dont want to lose neale which we know they will.
Might cause brisbane to trade pick 5 to adelaide for 8 and 13/16 to try and satisfy them.
While Melbourne might take 8 and 11/13/16 for hogan but the suns surely wouldn't take 8 for may. (Which with the blakey FS would blow out to 9. Outside the elite 8)

So to me it all seems to hinge on port and adelaide this year as their desperation to move up draft order will stop player trades.

Even Bowes and Scrim were meant to be great mates from the Academy. Doesn’t always work for whatever reason. It looks to be working for Brisbane now because their football looks exciting but things can change quickly. A bad injury year and failure to climb the ladder, then the Vic clubs start chasing McLuggage etc with big dollars... Beams leaves...who knows?

Good defensive cover. Would allow us to use May as the loose or even up forward and still get a look at 2 with Rozee or Smith being there at 6 quite possibly and the next best midfielder at 10.

However that is fantasy dream land stuff.

Burton is interesting hopefully we are asking the question of a quality young KPP. There would be quite a few interested, but still fantasy dream land stuff.

This morning on Trade Radio SANFL talent manager talked about Lukosius, Rankine, Rozee - all great. He has Rankine as a pick 1, clearly better than Walsh, can win games on his own, special talent. He also said really nice things about him off the field. I believe we should use picks 2 and 3 for the best talent - Lukosius and Rankine. Lukosius - best kick he ever seen, can play anywhere.

If anything we should try to get pick 4 from St. Kilda.

Possibly but with the hawks getting the best 2 assets it’s difficult
