I doubt we could have used it this year anyway
Nah you mistaken me , GC can do the deal with any other club , but now look like GC might do a deal with adelaide with pick 3 after Cripps comment , if GC really need Lukosius and Rozee and give up picking up Rankine .

How did we get Francou from Adelaide

Pick 2???
Pick 3 and Swap pick . Craig doing something in the background with Adelaide after Port found out they might not get top 3 Adelaide players at pick 6.

It's interesting this theory. I hear from one good source that he won't waste his time on lazy footballers. You listen to Touk, Ballard, AhChee, Fiorini and they swear by him.

It does appear that he has put the bulk of his efforts/time into players in the best 22/25, but what you say would make sense. Those on his good side can't speak highly enough of him; the guys you mention + Weller, Sexton, May, Bowes, Holman, DMac, Witts, Swallow, just to name a few I have heard say how much improvement they have seen from him as opposed to the old regime.

On the other hand, Barlow, Scrimshaw and Hall have all commented on him not being enough in this department, and coincidentally they are the ones who had already been moved on. It will be interesting to see how Dew grows into the role in year 2.

We're all crossing our fingers for it on our board.

First the token swap of late picks to land us Stengle, then we release Francou as a sign of goodwill.

Maybe saving the finale for prime time viewing tomorrow night?
I prefer Draft night and not tomorrow. Port will go hard at st Kilda pick 4.

Horlo might not seem like much, but there is no better clubman in the league I would garner, and you most likely have a player for life. What he lacks in certain skills, he makes up for with grunt and leadership. Really happy to see him get the opportunity, as he thoroughly deserves it :)

Vale Scrim.

Classic salary dump type trade. That's another 800k freed up. Clearly not rated by the current coaches and staff and just needed him off the books. Whatever it takes to clear out the decks and start again.

No doubt part of the plan to loosen up our salary cap. Hard decisions, but those that need to be made.
Lovely kick and intercept mark...……..couldn't run out of sight, bad attitude, lazy, no work ethic and angling to go home already early in season Father is no prize either Sandringham Dragons coach warned the club about him and they still took him.....all talent and no character

That doesn't matter! He is a chip, we failed to capitalize on. He was contracted ffs. This is waaaaay worse than the Weller trade
or you could say we brought in Scheer Bowes Ainsworth Brodie and Scrimshaw and Scrim was a bust and the other boys look like being the foundation we build on.......not bad odds

Iva, surely you can agree that we can't keep a guy on 400k a year playing NEAFL? It's just not workable.

This is a guy that clearly needs a very specific environmental setup around him to get the most out of himself. Some guys need that. Others don't. The mistake isn't letting him go. That's the right move.

The mistake was getting him in the first place. Hopefully our scouting and recruiting teams have learned lessons from the past. Craig Cameron said that he is looking to draft very specific players like this in the future. Players that don't need that very specific environment to be up and running.
Sunny your dead on but we were warned by his previous coach

Good news is the word on Collins is he is a gun trainer and massive work ethic

Oh I fully agree, the bit I am most pissed about is why pick him up in the first place, if he’s an introverted mummy’s boy and was recognised as a potential spud why the **** did we speculate on him. This is on the club not the player, the previous regime to get him and the current one for the firesale .

I am sick and tired of the **** ups. And let’s be honest while I’m ranting, we went backwards last year and the word is ( from several sources) Dew is a poor communicator.
Clayton ignored the mail on Scrimshaw and went ahead regardless

Know him from Adelaide days.

GHS isn't a speed machine, but he's a decent footballer.

I think more importantly for your club, he is an outstanding character and leader.

You can rest assured he will play an important role in building a strong culture at your club.
yep a true clubman could be a real great get even though he isn't Dangerfield on the ground, can definitely see some serious character and maturity coming in now, should cut down on our injury list too with these mature guys who can stay on the park

Well I’m glad the club are clearing out the crap from the club. Him and hall don’t belong here if we are building the right team and culture
