i reckon Collins will slot into CHB for you guys in round 1, also really like the Corbett pick up, will be a nice forward/mid for you guys also, im glad you guys kept these state players, Carlton traded both theirs away like idiots...

Horlin-Smith is another good player Geelong have not got the best out of, he dominates in the VFL and has been ok at AFL level, but for some reason never gets a good run at it.

It does appear that he has put the bulk of his efforts/time into players in the best 22/25, but what you say would make sense. Those on his good side can't speak highly enough of him; the guys you mention + Weller, Sexton, May, Bowes, Holman, DMac, Witts, Swallow, just to name a few I have heard say how much improvement they have seen from him as opposed to the old regime.

On the other hand, Barlow, Scrimshaw and Hall have all commented on him not being enough in this department, and coincidentally they are the ones who had already been moved on. It will be interesting to see how Dew grows into the role in year 2.

Horlo might not seem like much, but there is no better clubman in the league I would garner, and you most likely have a player for life. What he lacks in certain skills, he makes up for with grunt and leadership. Really happy to see him get the opportunity, as he thoroughly deserves it

He is exactly what we need in terms of ethic, character and leadership

there's more to it than that but remember Brodie wasn't getting a guernsey like Barlow and the jungle drums were he was disgruntled, perhaps another coach stepped in and put some extra time and support around him and he got game time and the situation turned around, there was a knock on Brodie's attitude from the get go and he was hard to coach but that has all changed and his managers endorsement of Dew and the club on his behalf is def a good story for us as a club

the rumour for a few weeks is the Gold Coast Suns are taking Lukosius and Rozee, Rankine wants to stay in SA and has said this a few times, also Lukosius and Rozee are friends and more likely to want to play at the same club, Rozee is more a pick around 6(starring in SANFL already), but taking him a bit earlier to guarantee they dont have the go home factor is worth the risk.

Fresh from sealing a trade to land George Horlin-Smith from the Cats, Suns list boss Craig Cameron said it was up to the rival suitors to start negotiations.

"He’d be happy to come to Melbourne (city) if something was found," Cameron told AFL.com.au.

"It’s up to the clubs now that are pursuing him to come up with something. At this this stage they haven’t."

Cameron suggested Brisbane’s pick five, which could go to Fremantle for Lachie Neale before moving to Melbourne for Hogan, would provide the linchpin for any May deal.

"We’re at the end of that chain and we’ll wait and see what happens," he said.

The Suns are also expected to finalise an exchange for Kade Kolodjashnij to move to the Demons, a transaction that could involve May.

If this scenario were to play out then I would assume Port go Rankine at 3 and saints go M.King at 4, leaving us with Smith and Rozee at 5 and 6, and then we pick up a Caldwell/Collier-Dawkins/Valente/etc. at 10, leaving us with Lukosius, Smith, Rozee, Caldwell and an O'Halloran?; a dream outcome and our midfield is more than set.

But if Adelaide were to move up to 4 and we had to choose between these 2 pairs, I would probably go the Kings purely because picking up just one is apparently asking for him to go home in 2 years as they are apparently joined at the hip and incapable of playing away from each other. With this outcome, a spine of

looks pretty damn solid.

But I rate Smith most out of the 3, and would put a bid on Blakey at 6.
