At 6 - no
Why not ? I don't want another Scrimshaw, just because some draft expert rate duursma lower .leadership and attitude add to my ranking , especially a team like GC that need to build good culture .

There is a certain value in a draft pick - with live trading of draft picks the idea is that you don't have to reach that hard to get the player you want.

Get him but turn 6 into Dursma + something ? by trading back if need be

The problem is Geelong , Bulldog , GWS , Port could all get him at 9,10,11,12. GWS could well look into him as Vic country boy too .

tom sheridan has been delisted from freo. would be a handy pick up.
Rookie pick 2 or let Carlton pick him up , worth one year contract the most , better than Lemmann and Shoenfield though. Maybe GWS, Melbourne pick him up with so many list spot available for them .

If Nick Holman upgraded , Brad sheer , Nicholls , Nutting could all relegated to rookie list, with Geelong getting Kruger and Adelaide mcadam don't think mature age priority access can place on Rookie list .

I just read that instagram post and it was the sort of thing I expected our ex-Captain to post about our Club, but it was not to be.......

We,as a Club, have got a lot of things wrong in the past, but it's now quite obvious, that not matching his contract from Richmond, was not one of them.

I am so disappointed in him as a person....I thought you were better than that, Tom.

Really desperately hoping that Smith is there at 6. His professionalism is second to none according to almost every article/recruiter you read about him from and he’s a mid/half back with speed and endurance who can find plenty of the ball. Also sandy dragons captain I believe. Would be a really solid addition. Especially from a culture point of view

Sadly I think he could request to go to Hawthorn after two year like Scrimshaw , he don't sound keen to move out of Victoria on road to Draft .

The only similarity with Scrim is that he's a Hawks supporter - Sounds like a real pro and could play right away. If he is there at 6 he will be the easy selection to make.

I did hear a comment on the road to the draft podcast where twoomey suggested smith would likely stay in vic.
Seemed a bit odd.
Wasn’t anything that smith said.

I heard Smith say that but didn't think anything of it although Twomey said on trade radio a couple of weeks ago that Smith would stay in Victoria which seems odd giving there is only 1 pick by a Vic club between 5 and 12

Wouldnt mind Richmond trading #17 , How many players would the Suns be taking in the november draft
Likely 5 with academy players all going rookie list .
*Personal opinion not fact , hold no responsibility if the outcome is different .

Our mature aged priority access State league players can go on our Rookie list.

It should be something like that. It could be 5 plus 1 Academy player. It may depend on whether any Academy players are bid on by other clubs.

Sorry, I can't find it anywhere. I just heard it from fans & it made sense to me. Since I can't find it in writing, maybe it isn't correct.

The actual assistance was 3 extra rookie spaces for mature players I believe so they’re all considered category A rookies

So many players available for Rookie contract .
