Everyone ripping into us about losing the players that have left need to think..... last year we had Tom Lynch, May, Lyons, Hall, Kolo and others...... we won 4 games??? It was obviously not the right team/ combination, this is what we need a massive shake up and rebuild and hopefully this reset brings results. It’s the best thing that could have happened, doesn’t feel like it now but something needed to be done.

The Crows pretty much gave Lyons away to you guys for free. I think the issues he had then are still the issues he has now. Any pick you'd get for him would be too low for you to use.

Lyons is a great player, he will do well at a side on the up like the lions, but realistically the suns aren’t going to get to finals because Jarod is winning clearances.

I've met his Dad and he played at 10 different footy and cricket clubs - that mercenary lifestyle is in the blood

I was with his parents at the Geelong game.
We spoke about his contract and 2019
Nothing was mentioned about changing clubs.
Just about going in for major ankle surgery.
Though while Jarrod was playing his parents were keeping a close eye on the NEAFL app whole Cory racked up 30 plus touches

Think it was all decided post season at some point

But a second/ third rd pick would of been nice

Everyone harps on about us losing O’mearo, Prestia, Caddy, Lynch, May etc in the last 3 years, but let me rephrase it, we had O’meara, Presta, Caddy, Lynch, May, Hall, Kolo and even Ablett playing in the last 3 years and we haven’t even been close to making finals..

Makes me feel great about the upcoming season ..

My first reaction to seeing this.. wtf!!
Second reaction: definitely has deficiencies. His terrible stoppage defence basically handed Carlton one of the softest goals as they were taking the reigns in that horrible home ground loss. Perhaps won’t be a great net loss. However if we suffer injuries surely he would be better backup than a Jacob Dawson for example. Why wouldn’t we just hold him to his contract and he can play sporadically when required.
Third reaction: why the hell didnt we trade for a future pick instead of delisting where we get nothing!

Looking forward to the pace and skills of ghs and Anthony miles.

5 years member and I go to at least 4 games a year. I have been a supporter since the start however I have lived in Coffs Harbour now Melbourne so it has been difficult to get to the games more regularly being a couple hours away from the ground.
I apologise for the rudeness of our fellow forum members. There is no call for questioning how much of a Suns supporter you are. It isn't just rude, it speaks for the character of some fans who somehow believe that the length of consecutive membership and amount of $$ a person has spent on the Suns somehow has anything to do with loyalty and standing in the community. It doesn't! The newest fan is equal to the oldest member, and those that aren't privileged enough to live close to or afford to attend games are no less in my eyes.

Thank you for contributing a positive opinion and I hope you can get to some Melbourne based games next year.

Yeah I think I in general agree. At some of the members nights some of the “foundation members” use that term as if it means they are extra special or have superior breeding. To me they come across when they behave that way as absolute twats.

It does define a group of us that have experienced even more pain than other supporters though:oops:
When you identify as a Suns Foundation Member you are basically asking for something like an RUOK

Firstly thanks for your support 17er. Mark my words had I been living on the Gold Coast at the date of inception I would have been a foundation member. A couple of hundred dollars membership and then a couple hundred more to travel to the games can get expensive when you are paid peanuts. There are plenty of supporters out there with low incomes that can’t afford a membership but that doesn’t make them any less of a supporter.

This 2018 Draft/Trade/FA period has been an unmitigated disaster.........................

---------- until draft night! Hope will spring again, that s%*t is eternal. 3 top 6 picks in a top heavy draft, sign me up for spring.

PS. Player trade and FA is more or less over. Can we rename this thread to something like "2018 Super Draft and we have 3 top 6 picks, get stuffed Crows and Port". A bit of hope in the title might improve our mental outlook.
