Utility player , not popular with GCS fan because of his kicking Skill but had a stronger upper body core than his younger brother Lachie .

We gave away Aaron Hall ( which I agree with ) and now we talk about recruiting identical type of player.
NO THANKS
Fair point and can understand, but we need more outside run, unavoidable, if Hall was a bit more of a model citizen we probably would of kept him around, we didn't offload him because he didn't fill a need, we offloaded him because he wasn't prepared to do what was asked of him. Murdoch is only 26 years old compared to Halls 29, played most of the season for Geelong, played in a final, played in a successful set up that is the GFC, former team mates with Horlin Smith so there is an understanding there already. He is going to come in ready to go from Rd 1, I honestly rate him above Corey Ellis.

Just my opinion, but ready to go outside players in the DFA are hard to come by. If we are putting out a bunch of 1st year players next season, we are setting up for a fall.

How else do you replace someone? If the club is interested in the bloke it'll be because he provides what Hall could without the lazy, holier than thou attitude and the 500K+ multi year contract.

Surely the object is to improve our list not stagnate with fringe players who have struggled throughout their careers.
In my opinion has nothing to help us go forward.
Just my thoughts.

I don't mind Murdoch as a pressure forward. He can kick goals. Don't really want him in the mid lines because he struggles to hit targets while running at his crazy pace.

I find it weird that the Cats delist Murdoch and trade for Gary Rohan. They are virtually the same player.

I think Rohan speed Vs Murdoch endurance.

Can't see eye to eye with you on this one (which is fine). Club certainly doesn't look to be stagnating with the drastic changes made to our list this off season, rather the opposite. There are plenty of examples of players who have had a real impact at Afl level despite struggling early in their career or being delisted by a previous club. I feel comfortable saying that if you took Nick Holman out of our side last year our team would have been objectively worse despite the fact that he had struggled before coming to us.
