McHenry has impressed me through his highlights package. I just don't think we need this type of player. if we think Valente or an O'halloran type is available for our 2nd then it would be ok. We need pure hard nut mids that can extract the ball out.
yep and if you look at the actual size of him and relate that to our mids and unless hes an out and out gun he isnt addressing any need.
Prestia, BEllis, Lambert, Higgins, Graham, Edwards, even Cotch while not a small is not big.

Gut feel. Just doesn’t seem like a fair swap.

Draft points seem to back it up too.
Pick 17 - 1025 points
Pick 21 - 878 points
Pick 25 - 756
Pick 30 - 629
Even two picks in the early to mid 30s are worth more than pick 17 points-wise.
Haha, I'm not sure how, but my post wasn't meant to be a response to your post.

Not sure how that happened.

But I agree with you nonetheless.

Is it possible that we can discuss drafting a player for another club?

I.e. Club Y wants player X but they don't have an early enough pick.

So we say to them, we'll select player X for you, then we trade for picks.

I know that's the whole purpose of live trading but is this considered draft tampering if it's planned in advance?

You probably couldn't prove it one way or another so I could've just answered my own stupid question.

That guy Bully? He knows his stuff, rated C.Daniel well before his Draft.
Fair enough mate only joined pretty recently so still trying to work out who knows there shit and who doesn’t etc

McHenry is a Richmond type of player would be happy to have him but will cause melts

Will be interesting to see what we do at the draft considering all the talk that hopper will be a tiger in 2020 heard it from a different source then asked Tiger71 if there was any truth to it before he did his podcasts with Michaels

So if we think we have the big bodied mid coming and stocker is already gone do we go McHenry or triple down and add a smith/etc

Interesting times our recruitment team have some credits in the bank lately just please no Taylor aka Lennon mk2

McHenry would cause melts in the short term but long term he could be very very good.

He runs all day (both ways) and that is priceless these days. Add some strings to his bow and could become and Sidebottom type player.

McHenry - fits our game plan to a T. We have a few of these sprt of guys. But more is better. Our VFL team will be light on for small forwards, and we need depth if we want to play three small forwards. Especially if Rioli moves into the center more.

I can see why we'd want 2 picks in the 20s. We'd get McHenry and a good mid this year. Lovely.
I think this is what we will try and do.
2 picks in the 20s will see us get McHenry and one of the following, Stocker, RCD, Dursma, Valente, Ely Smith.

Someone will slide.
Im not caught up on size like many in here. The game will open more and there will be less rotations going forward nothing against someone who runs 30Km just for fun and loves a tackle. We will have others push through the middle.

1st Pick draft best available whatever that may be.

Club might be thinking one of George or Butler are expendable or not entirely confident Bolton will come on.Out of the trio skill wise George is in trouble. If so can see why McHenry is on our radar.

Indication why we might nab McHenry was our interest in Scully.

I don’t know anything, but I would absolutely like two top 30 picks instead of 17 based on available talent.
Would rather keep this years 1st.
Lose next years 1st.
Offer up 2020 1st for Hopper(if true) so then we can get Maurice Jr relatively cheap in the same year.

Can't remember a year there were so many potentially good options at our first pick, when we didn't already know who the club was in love with and would inevitably pick

Should be an interesting draft to say the least. Anyone else think Hately could slide?
I think Hately will slide but the latest will be Geelongs pick. Can't see him getting past Adelaides 2nd pick

Richmond
Draft selections: 17, 37, 64, 68, 74, 92

Backs: There's decent depth here. Alex Rance, David Astbury and Dylan Grimes are the keys, while Ryan Garthwaite is a talented apprentice. Noah Balta can play at both ends, and Jayden Short and Nick Vlastuin are set for more responsibility.

Midfield: It could do with some bolstering after they saw off a host of depth in trade period. Another inside mid or wingman wouldn't hurt in case of injury, given their charmed run in that department surely won't always continue.

Forwards: They're fine for key forwards. They want more out of Shai Bolton, potentially on the wing, while Dan Rioli and Jack Higgins have been earmarked for more midfield minutes. They're set for a forward-line restructure, but look to have enough pieces to play with.

Rucks: Could do with another. Ivan Soldo is a developing back-up option for Toby Nankervis, but two have retired in the past 12 months with undersized option Shaun Grigg to follow in the coming years.

The priority: Best available midfielders and maybe one who can fill a run-with role down the track. A project tall wouldn't be a bad idea either to boost their ruck depth. - Jennifer Phelan

Dream draft according to Cal Twomey: A strong midfielder could be the target for the Tigers, bringing Liam Stocker or Xavier Duursma into the equation. They could also add another small forward to their list, with Ian Hill and Ned McHenry on the radar.

Friggin erks me that statement.Charmed run with injury?
Been the undertone all this year and looks like it will continue unless a Cotch or a Dusty go down for long periods.
