This is the new rule that GWS will use to get Mumford. If you've been overlooked in a draft or previously on a list but out of the game for a year you're basically a free agent as of Friday last week. Means you can be signed like a delisted free agent without having to go through any further draft:

The point being in this case with Mav Weller, he's been delisted so can be signed as a supplementary CatB.

But you answered my question with the bolded section. Weller is not in this situation.

Weller if effectively a free agent. No draft pick required

DFA yes, and would go onto our senior list, however this in not a SSP selction. I think the wording is incorrect if they are indeed allowable.

I don’t know much about this years draft, but I really hope this Curtis Taylor rumour isn’t true. The absolute last thing we need is a half forward flanker.

3rd pick big ruck/kpf 198cm great hands and leap also super fast came 6th overall at combine for 20m sprint

4th pick Ely smith everyone on the board loves him some more then others

This would be the perfect draft if we could pull it off

There's no way Melbourne would be interested in that trade considering they specifically targeted getting those picks in trades. They fought to get that 24 as part of the Hogan deal and then did a pick swap to get 28.

Also, Ely Smith will barely last past the first round let alone pick 37 - he's been invited to the draft night.
