Hately moves and plays like Mark Coughlan.
a much bigger more mobile version perhaps.

Have not seen a lot of any kids this yr and am like most others this yr relying on highlight reels and bits and bobs to glean info.

Biggest need is big inside mid imo and Hately is one of about 7 or 8 who may be there and seems to be the best one who may slip.

I think your having a bit of a giggle with tigerbob. Bit unfair sometimes to take look back in isolation but fun.
I have respect for those who put it out there and dont talk in hindsight.Reckon tigerbob is one of those.

Personally i wanted Sam Durdin that yr which looks a bit of a bust at this stage.
Did want Connor Blakely and Oskar McDonald with our next two picks though.

Everyone gets it wrong even the pro's who are paid to do the job. Some of them get it more wrong than right on a regular basis we only need look at FJ to see this.

Reading up on Eli most I’ve heard is he’s a 3rd rounder
If Smith goes 3rd round I know nothing about football. Size/strength, great step, good hands, likes the rough and tumble and quick especially laterally... only going off highlights but that transfers to AFL. Rather Ely than Bailey Smith (from the little I've seen).

Ely smith smashes the contest and has speed to break away pure ball hunter and has size to break tackles if he's not our inside bull we are after than i dont know who is.

He wont go 3rd round, #17 -#30 imo
Tomy Sheridan very good chance of being a tiger next year
I have also had this feeling as well since he got delisted, I can see Richmond taking him as a rookie selection for cover

Lonergan is not worth it imo.
Would not be unhappy with Lonergan, Rated him as a junior and is a strong body
how bad was his development and can see him really improving at Richmond

So with the unofficial/official delistings of Chol Drummond and Townsend the list now stands as follows:

34 Senior Listed
Astbury Balta Bolton Broad Butler Caddy Castagna Coleman-Jones Cotchin Edwards Ellis Garthwaite Graham Grigg Grimes Higgins Houli Lambert Lynch Markov Martin McIntosh Menadue Miller Moore Naish Nankervis Prestia Rance Riewoldt Rioli Short Soldo Vlastuin

2 Rookies
Baker Egglemosse-Smith

So we can take 8 players in the draft with a minimum of 2 rookies and a maximum of 6 senior listed players.

Is that just a gut feel or do you have some info? I think Sheridan, Weller and Jessie lonergan if he gets delisted are all worth a rookie list spot. Just one of them tho.
Was told 4 months ago that tommy would be coming back to ,Melbourne
More than likely Essendon, the guy told me today he thinks it could be richmond, now, but Essendon still a chance,, this guy knows the sheridan family very well

I preface this by saying that I am mostly basing the players listed from height, weight and position. I have not watched most (if any of them) play a game so don't know about speed, decision-making, skills nor athleticism. If you want to say who would suit us better because you have watched them play, then feel free to do so.

#1 Riley Collier-Dawkins - 193cm 88kg midfielder
#2 Ely Smith - 188cm 86kg midfielder
#3 Xavier O'Halloran - 187cm 83kg midfielder
#4 Luke Valente - 186cm 80kg midfielder
#5 Jackson Lately - 190cm 81kg midfielder (Although he may not be as ready next year)

What do these players have in common? They are all described as medium-tall midfielders. It is what our midfield lacks in both the present and in the long run too.

heard a guy on the radio, say Eli was the one after the first 9 or so picks that will most likely play next year.

Id take that one step further and add stocker, Lewis. Foley
I know getting Lynch was a priority but what i dont get is it SEEMS we were not going at anyone else so why did we not try to offload some other players to advance our draft positions. Even two picks in the early 30's would have been great yet alone getting a first or second rounder.

I think we have a few players pencilled in late in the nd that we are confident will be there and possibly have a mature player or two in our sights as well its the only thing that makes sense.

if Smith does go in the 30 - 45 range and i reckon there will be a few like him more reason why we should have been trading for more picks in that range.

The AFL article says Chol and Townsend would be delisted, if there are no takers at other clubs, then they will be drafted as rookies.
But there is no mention of Drummond's future.
