Willie Rioli is right to play in round 11, but will be a bit lighter in the hip pocket... He has been issued a $1500 fine for misconduct against Hardwick & $1000 fine for contact on umpire Ray Chamberlain.

My heart aches for himWillie Ray sigh: Us
Well let’s hope he learns from this.In a split millisecond, assessed the weight differential between players, rioli being less. Also his knee was smaller than opponents buttock.
The hand pat to the umpires bum, handspand was 1/3 of buttock.
Correct weight interpretation. No ban. Play on.
Honestly should’ve been a 1 weeker the way the rule is written (not that I agree with that anyway). Was clearly intentional and their excuse was that he wasn’t looking at the umpire so it only deserved “careless”. More a problem with the grading system rather than the action.
Willie a bit stiff due to butt contactWillie touching butt is fine.
A proud moment for Australia.
I dont get itWould've been a shame for Willie to be suspended for indigenous round.
Glad he escaped with a $1,500 fine for the dropping of the knees. Even if it was a bit more clumsy than malicious. Got him in the backside/thigh more than the back.
I never said he didn’t mean it. I reckon half way down he thought better of it hence the immediate acknowledgement that he’d done wrong and the bum tap for Razor. As I say, have seen far more cynical knees being dropped into blokes on the ground than what Willie did on the weekend.Blue and gold glasses there.. he meant to drop his knees in, let's not sugarcoat it
Not going to be quite so much fun this week
And signs for 3 at a reduced rate. The only thing that could brighten the day is bringing back that biomechanics expert to explain how a jaw could spontaneously break itself. Gaff gets off with zero weeks and wins the Brownlow.
