I'm about to do a mock draw myself
But seeing the rankings made me wonder one thing
I see Russia has the lowest ranking in the World Cup
Would that be due to deflated rankings with no qualifiers for two years?
I know FIFA awards a more points to proper games over friendlies, so in the case of the hosts not playing competitive games for two years, would their ranking get deflated?

Bookies have Russia about somewhere in the middle for favourites. I think even if the WC weren't hosted in Russia, they'd be in pot 4 but still probably be ahead of South Korea, Panama, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, and maybe Morocco and the Socceroos as well. I say us because it's weird how the Saudis are rated as the weakest along with Panama and yet the green falcons finished above us in the WCQ.
