Interesting, if France beat Denmark 1-0, and we beat Peru 1-0, who goes through out of us and Denmark? Would be same GD, head to head was a draw... would we go through due to more total goals?

what will happen

France beat Peru , guaranteed spot.
France and Denmark play a bruise free 1- 1 Draw - both go through
Which is why I say we need Peru to upset. If France beat Peru, then start prepping for Asian Cup because as you say, the French and Danes will control the outcome in their match

Yep goals scored would be the tie breaker
And we'd progress 3-2

I don’t understand why he brought Rogic off he was just starting to get on the ball and dominate .. would have done Irvine on for Jedinak .. left Arzani far too late as well kruse was just occupying grass ..

To be honest didn’t seem like Bert was fully committed to a win and still reserved

The only , and I say only, bright spot is if France or Denmark want to control their finishing spot for future match ups

We have good players who give their all, but no world class players. It shows at this level.

Thought Leckie, Sainsbury, Rogic we’re very good. We never wanted to attack down the left side before Arzani came on and therefore became very predictable down the right. I thought Nabbot was ok.

France's second team is better than Denmark's first, the seconds will be hungry too. Peru will play France into form. Calling it now. Aussies beat Peru 1-0 with a 79th minute header from Timmy, France beats Denmark 2-0. Socceroos take on Christiano and Co.

This is pretty much what is going to happen.

I hope France shows some spine but if they win against Peru, they will probably rest players for the finals.

And troll us into the bargain.

Danes will play their leggies off knowing a draw will get them through.

Can’t see us making it sobs.

Lets not forget that finishing 1st over 2nd might be the difference between playing Iceland instead of Argentina/Croatia. Don't think either side will tank in the last if they can control their potential opponent in the Round of 16.
True, but you would think Denmark would rather bank 2nd with a draw than try and go for 1st and risk getting knocked out. And assuming France win tonight, a draw against Denmark would give them 1st, so both have incentive...

This couldn't be further from the truth. There are pros and cons for all potential results in the France vs Peru game.
If France defeat Peru, then the Danes and French control the group, and ensure it in the final match.

Peru defeat France and group is open on final group match day

Surprised Hernandez has recovered from his fractured arm, leg and foot to get up for this one.
That is a pretty deadly lineup for France though. We want Peru to win right ?
Rather France to win because

1. France - 6 - ??? GD
2. Denmark - 4 - 1 GD
3. Australia - 3
4. Peru - 0

Which means if France beats a Poulsen-less Denmark, a draw could see us through.
