It’s normally very easy to support whoever is playing West Coast after over two decades of dealing with toaster fans. West Coast fans pretending to support freo during our grand final for “west coast footy”, while ultimately still enjoying the loss gives me all the more reason to support the other team.

However, it’s still Collingwood who I’d have to get behind, a club with the most obnoxious president in the league and fans who on their day are the most belligerent. Plus, I can’t help but respect the way the eagles play the game and love watching McGovern do his thing.

It’s shaping up as a lose/lose.

I'm with Sabre, its a lose/lose. I won't be watching. But i do have respect for the current eagles team and their coach.
Nisbett I'd shoot him twice if i had the chance, and Benny boy and the like from the last eagles good team are a distant memory, but were right royal ********s. But I like Mcgovern, yeo, ryan etc so they aren't all bad. Masten is revolting, but they deserve the shot.

It wasn't complacency that cost us the finals, that was lack of talent.

Complacency was what led us to the last three seasons worth of awful performances.

I would agree with both of those statements. Especially complacency on the recruiting/drafting/development side.

I do disagree with the implication that we should have more drastically changed tack in 2014, but it's probably a matter of degrees that we would disagree on.

Anyway back to this thread I am going to be supporting West Coast so stick that all in your pipe and smoke it.
