I'm personally okay with facing Geelong at Simmonds, it will be a while before we start pulling in bigger crowds. After all, success puts bums on seats.

We should also face Adelaide at their home ground and Fremantle should come over here to face us.

Either no Friday night games or one against North in the back half of the year. Still long away from more prime time after that atrocious 2015 with that nut at the helm.

Wouldn't be surprised if we again open up the season on Thursday night against Richmond as it is our only marquee match. Kind of supports us financially and helps install hope into our fans while it's possible.

I had a gut feeling after the last round finished that we might play Collingwood in round 1 next year. Think both of our teams' supporters would welcome the fixture and I reckon it's great way to kick off our respective seasons next year.

we request to play interstate games interstate due to the diabolical stadium conditions we are forced to play under, until the AFL fixes that then I wouldn't expect to see us play you guys in Melb

that is a shame about the stadium deal. we have played you guys in adelaide every year since 09 i just checked. as a fan, you get a bit bored of watching the sames teams every year.

agreed, Adelaide hasn't been the place we have had much success at either, so plying at Etihad would surely help tip the tide win wise as well.

The whole premise of an even comp is so jilted around the fixture it isn funny, some clubs earn more in 3-4 games that others make in a whole year, compensation doesn't really compensate for the lost opportunity of building membership and attendance.

Shotgun start to round 23. Make it happen. I posted this in the like hate learn thread. Imagine the excitement between stadiums as scores flash up on the big screens 'around the grounds' style. It would be huge.

This is what I would do, given stadiums, and any possible intriguing battles. Foxtel could put on extra channels like they have in the past for big sporting events, and 7 could also utilise 7mate.

Round 23
All games begin 6:45pm EST Saturday night
Sydney v Hawthorn, SCG
GWS v Western Bulldogs, Spotless Stadium
North Melbourne v Fremantle, Blundstone/UTas
West Coast v Melbourne, Perth Stadium
Geelong v St Kilda, Simonds Stadium or whatever its going to be called next year
Richmond v Essendon, MCG
Carlton v Port Adelaide, Etihad
Adelaide v Brisbane, Adelaide Oval
Gold Coast v Collingwood, Metricon Stadium

I know we have requested the Hawks in round 1 but wouldn't be surprised if we were sent to the new Perth stadium. They wouldn't open it with a round 1 Derby and think they will try to get a big drawing Melbourne club there v the Eagles

Gabba for some or just play away games until then?
Should just give every team a bye... actually, its grounds for Gary Ablett staying - if GC have no matches for 10 weeks then he doesn't have to make up piss poor excuses for missing games and collecting wads of money. Total parasite and a selfish little flog.

What is the likely opener for the new Perth stadium?

Sounds as though it will be a West Coast game.

v Sydney would be a nice rematch of those recent GF's

If it were v Crows, I'd try to find a way to get over for it.
