We can talk it all we want... but we ain't getting 11 games in Geelong.

9 hopefully is realistic.
2 of Hawks/Pies/Tigers at the G.. everyone else in Geelong.
Essendon especially.. the country game is a stupid theme game anyway but at least actually rotate it so it is played in Geelong

Happy to have no Home game against Collingwood - becuase they are rubbish and if they are rubbish Pie fans do not show up

No Home Game against Essendon is also ok as it will be at MCG or Etihad anyway

I don't believe there's a thread for this, forgive me if there is.

We're about 3 weeks away from the 2018 fixture release (end of October).

  • How many games will we play at Home this year?
  • How many 6 day breaks?
  • How many Thursday/Friday nights?
  • How many away trips?
Finishing Top 6 gives us a harder draw, but should be no worse than this year. Expecting Adelaide and Richmond as 2 of the 5 double ups, with both Richmond games being at the MCG (of course). Hawks for Easter Monday will be our other home game at the MCG with 9 at Kardinia Park.

KP Home: West Coast, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Adelaide, North, Saints, Bulldogs, Carlton and Sydney
MCG Home: Hawthorn and Richmond.
Away: Collingwood, Freo, West Coast, Adelaide, Port, Sydney, Richmond, Hawthorn, Essendon, GWS and Melbourne.
 
I would think 9 at KP.

Its our home Easter Monday so it will be at the G, and I am guessing to keep the Richmond fans happy as the AFL seem to be bending over backwards to make them happy we will play them twice at the G.

Reckon the double-ups will be:

Gold Coast - Ablett factor
Richmond - only other Vic side in this year's top 6, due to play them twice (last time was 2007)
St Kilda - another one seemingly overdue, likely risers
Adelaide - Dangerfield factor, have regularly played them twice of late, top 6
Sydney - also a regular double-up, top 6

Think we'll cop Collingwood or Essendon for one of the MCG games. Can't remember the last time we had a home game against neither in the same season. Might have to settle for 8 Simonds matches if they also fixture Tigers + Hawks at the G.

Collingwood home at KP.

If you think the meltdown from Richmond supporters was bad, this would be on a whole different level. Would be hilarious.

And ideally, this is the point the club needs to get to with the "11 home games at KP" request. We can't pick and choose who we get at KP and who we play away at the MCG.

Pies will never come down the highway, because AFL contract with MCG says they need to play 14 games at the G. Leaves 8 Collingwood games for Etihad and Insterate.

The solution would be to trade one Collingwood away game at Etihad, for one at KP. Force the Saints, Kangaroos or Bulldogs to "host" them at the MCG, just like we have had to for years.
