The Dockers will travel north to take on the Demons at Darwin's TIO Stadium in round 16 in a night clash.
MELBOURNE will again play two 'home' games in the Northern Territory during the home and away season next year, hosting Adelaide in Alice Springs and Fremantle in Darwin.

Guess that is a neutral game so not too bad. Although beating them at the G was fun last year.

13 games at home, 9 away. Interesting. 4 out of our first 6 at home too.

Away games?? All guesses.

Round 1 in Adelaide
Round 5
Round 7
Round 9
Round 11
Round 13
Round 14 or 15 bye (or the changes from odd to even could happen after an earlier bye)? Or round 15 away derby and bye later?
Round 16 in Darwin
Round 18
Round 20
Round 22

I assume we play a game against Brisbane late and one against Sydney away (they travel against WC). Including the away derby, that leaves 5 more away games. Wonder if we’ll get 2 MCG games.

what's the odds we play in tassie again. Would be nice if they spread out the Tasmania and NT games out over two seasons, rather than giving two in one and none in the other

9 away games.

Round 1 vs Port in Adelaide
Round 4
Round 7
Round 9
Round 11
Round 13
Round 16 vs Demons in Darwin
Round 18
Round 20
Round 22

I’m sensing a trip to Brisbane, another one to Adelaide, one to Sydney, one to tassie and Geelong or Ballarat leaving only 3 games for the MCG/Etihad.

What a dud fixture if you’re a Melbourne based Freo supporter if this comes to fruition.

From the look of the below looks like we play Port, Bombers, Collingwood and Carlton twice. Don't know how legit this is but interesting.

Probably play Pies at G and the other teams at Etihad.

Thats a pretty sound group of double ups if it is true, pretty satisfied with that.

However pretty much confirms 1 (2 Max) at the G which isn't ideal.

Gotta love the Eagles fans and the way those spoilt turds carry on, don't you?

So they demanded the opening game of the season, which they got due to the fact that we opened the final season at Domain Stadium last year.

So fair enough they got that. But then they demanded to open the season under lights against Collingwood on either a Friday or Saturday night.

They have also demanded 3 games at the MCG in order to help Jack Darling and Josh Kennedy deal with their anxiety issues, and then they have tried to buy the round 2 or 4 home game from the Gold Coast Suns.

Also, Nisbett has once again approached the AFL in an attempt to host the first ANZAC day tribute match at the new stadium.

So once it was announced that the Eagles will in fact be getting round 1 at the new stadium, the high-fives and dick slapping has suddenly turned into a massive whinge fest.

Firstly, they get Sydney and not Collingwood, plus they get the shittiest time slot being a Sunday afternoon game with no Free to Air live coverage.

Secondly, Fremantle get to host Essendon under lights at prime-time on Saturday night in round 2, plus Fremantle also get the Suns' home game in round 3 due to the Commonwealth Games being on at Metricon.

Lastly, Freo get the round 5 ANZAC day game at the new stadium, as per our tradition with the Len Hall game.

So well done Eagles, enjoy round 1 at the new stadium.

Harry - word is that we play the Eagles in Round 6 with it being a Freo Home Derby... how would that work if the Len Hall game is Round 5 with Anzac Day?

Really?

Out of the bottom six 4/6 play three bottom six sides twice.
Collingwood and Carlton should be the best two of the 2017 bottom six (especially taking freo out of the equation)
Probably the best two middle six sides
Away trip to Darwin and god knows where else

Only positives is playing West Coast twice which the AFL had to do and the Gold Coast “away” game in Perth (which is probably a large reason for the stuff above imo).

Anyone know how the Gold Coast "away" game works?

"Fremantle will pay an agreed fee to the Suns, who are unable to host games at their Metricon Stadium home early in the season due to Commonwealth Games commitments at the venue."

Apparently Port paid GC $500k to play in China. Presumably we would pay something similar. I assume we would also have to play the cost of the stadium hire.

I'd guess stadium members would get their seats and Freo would get the remaining 58,000 odd to sell as they please? Would the club also get signage rights?
