1989 season.

Six drivers throughout the season racked up the rather curious double of scoring a podium finish and failing to qualify for a race!

Mauricio Gugelmin, Stefano Modena, Michele Alboreto, Eddie Cheever, Andrea De Cesaris and Stefan Johansson.

Alboreto and Johansson on more than one occasion didn't even pre-qualify!

Vietnam to host Formula 1 Grand Prix from 2020
Formula 1 and the City of Hanoi today announce that a Grand Prix will be held in the Vietnamese capital from April 2020.

As the first new race to be announced under Liberty Media’s ownership, the Vietnamese Grand Prix represents Formula 1’s firm commitment to the Asia region where races are already well established in Singapore, China and Japan.

It also forms part of Formula 1’s long-term strategy to broaden the appeal of the sport and to reach new audiences around the globe.

They've tried too hard to copy section of other tracks.
Austin is one of the best modern tracks because its original.
Austin is literally one of the least original. The esses were based off Maggotts and Becketts at Silverstone, the stadium section is based off the stadium section Hockenheim, and the long sweeping right is based off of Istanbul. They weren’t shy is admitting what the track was inspired by either, when designs were first shown.

On the Vietnam topic, I personally like the look of it. People hated Baku when that was first shown, and for the last 2 years, it has produced great Grand Prix.

Was just at the Austin GP seated at turn 1. Amazing except for the tiny screens and lack of audio (FM) coverage available at the track. The actual track view was amazing, could see about 8 corners.

EDIT- getting in and and out if the place is a bìt of a debacle too.

At least it shouldn't be too expensive to get over there for the first ever Vietnam F1 GP.

Heard great things about Vietnam and been meaning to go check it out, so might have to lock it in :D

Yeah thats one big positive. Been looking for an excuse to get to Vietnam.

The Williams is a bit s**t at the moment but it's always nice to have a feel good story like this.

I think all of us - whether we support Williams or not - hope that Kubica does well next year. Just making it to the starting grid is already a huge achievement.

Honestly, I think its an absurd decision to hire a driver who hasn't raced in 8 years and was never proven to be that great at his peak. Luca Badeor in 2009 made more sense. But its pretty consistent with Williams' decision making in recent times.
