Why do you think the Packers fired Ted Thompson?
Because he was chronically adverse to using Free Agency.
It wasnt that simple. He also didnt value DB's and if players didnt meet his measurables he wouldnt draft them.

and would lean on in house players too much, often forcing them into starting positions too early because of depth. especially at DB.

Who is that LB the Giants paid 7m a year for?

The guy has 41 total tackles, and 4.5 assists in 4 years? Had 24 tackles and 1 sack last year.

Am I missing something here?

Then again AFC looks like it will get weaker again, after an already weak season last.

NFC looks stronger.

Eagles, Packers, Vikings, Falcons, Saints, Cowboys, all look like genuine Super Bowl contenders, and the 49ers are an unknown quantity to me. They could join that group and it wouldn't surprise me if they did

Jaguars will struggle to make playoffs next season.

They peaked this season. Their defense did so much to get them in and they only finished 10-6, not exactly that impressive.

They will be an 8/9 win team again, maybe 10 again at best, but they will likely not win the division

I think they make it..if watson is healthy then it will be a flip of the coin between afc south / wild card spot.

Their O line will be better next season and you could argue better receivers to pass to.

Defense will be the same.

Id be stunned if they didnt go 10-6 or better

Hard to get the same defensive effort let alone better after doing so well last season, also after a gut wrenching loss in an AFC Championship they should have won. Their coaching staff don't trust them. Or at least Marrone doesn't

Maybe he'll change

Jags defence will get better as they’re mostly young stars who will continue to improve with more preseasons under their belt as they near their peak age.

Think the Titans will drop off next season especially if Luck and Watson play.

They may not do so well

They had an easy draw this year due to their poor season the year before

But they should make the playoffs

Disagree on the DB part, reckon it was MLBs he didn't value at all. But he definitely only drafted DBs who met his measurables.

He did show a lot of loyalty to drafted guys, you could say to the team's detriment but at the same time it's hard to get FAs to go to Green Bay.

DE Julius Peppers: One year, $5 million - he’s 63 yo!

The disrespect of a legend!! This First Ballot HOF cares not for age. Find me a player another free agent coming off 11 sacks last year that went anything close to this cheap.

Is it wallpapering over the cracks? Yes. Is he old? Yes. Do i expect him to match the same output this year? No, but i didn't expect him to have double digit sacks last year either. Is it a good deal? ERRR, HELL YES

Crab officially cut.

Likely to be replaced by 4 healthy games from Nelson.

Don't like that one much. Clearly more the result of a broken relationship.
