2018 French Open - Roland Garros

I still think Zverev has him on the clay court. Just has been off this tournament compared to usual.

Federer is not a clay couter though. So it is hardly any comparison to make between the two.

Thiem has MUCH better results on a clay court. Any other court and I’m with you. Clay, you want a Thiem type. Funnily this might be Dimitrov’s chance too.

Well no. Thiem has reached 2 slam semis and a slam final on clay. Zverev best result is a quarter. Thiem is the better clay court player at this point.

Easily. Not even close in my view either. Thiem is much better on this surface

Who did he beat recently for championships? Number 65 and 66...

Face someone ranked higher than 20 and he would most likely lose.
Fact is he has won 10 titles and I believe you mentioned he cannot win championships. You can only beat the player in front of you. He has done that 10 times.in a championship final, as you say.

Madrid, where Zverev was in form? Unlike how he was in the French Open.

Madrid was an exception rather than the norm. Thiem has a lot more consistency on this surface especially the red clay at Roland Garros

Zverev has been in 6 Clay Championship matches and won 4 of those. I think that record speaks for himself. He can really play any surface to a great level.

Anyone want to tip a dark horse for Wimbledon?

If and I do mean IF he’s fit- Kyrgios isn’t the worst shout. He should get a reasonable draw being seeded.

I’ll also throw up JMDP. He really over achieved at the French, gets to Wimbledon on a surface that suits.

For the women, very open but I like Pliskova and Maddison Keys actually

Hung around for the first two sets then went to bed. Was clear where it was heading.

Nadal since 2017 AO has just been a joy to watch, his tennis is a sight to behold. His Delpo demolition at the USO last year was a sexy display of tennis.

What sort of French Open coverage did we have on FTA last year? We've had 4 slam second weeks on FTA in a row now, great time for tennis fans. I've never seen 4 consecutive slam finals live on FTA.

Crying shame about the World Cup coverage.

It was good to get some coverage but I found I barely watched any of what was on SBS as most nights it started too late and didn't cover the matches I wanted to watch anyway. Would have watched about 10% on SBS and 90% via my betting account. Still, something is better than nothing!

Well done to Rafa, watched the first set and then packed it in, too tired :$

Bring on the grass :D
