If I was a gun player they look a lot more enticing to me. Josh Kelly would think they are better than us.
And Josh would be right.
We are rubbish of the highest order, and if not for the Dons we we'd be getting roasted 24/7 on every band wave. The only benefit of being a pissant club is that no one gives a crap while there's something else to look at.

Is it still the case that Carlton fans are often the well-to-do and gentile type?
I couldn't tell you that MUFKilda.......they've copped a lot over the last 15 years....you'd hope they'd be a bit humble after all they've been thru since the "glory days"

But gee.....back in the pre 2002 days...every Carlton supporter I knew was just so arrogant.

They were known as the "corporate club" back in the mid to late 80's....so much so it was driving their grass roots supporters away.

The image/perception was so strong, they started doing TV commercials for memberships with SOS at games mingling with yr "average supporters".....I think one ad had him carrying thru the crowd a lost child who was then re united with the kids mother.

It was quite striking from memory.....they were trying very hard to get away from the corporate image.

Listen to that moron ...Andy Maher still continues about how elite Carlton are...

Pratt , Mathieson ...still bankroll the club ...but they won flags hence the arrogance.
Hope the pain continues forever.

Easier to win flags when you rort the SC. I thinks its reasonable to assume rorting under the entire John Elliot tenure, and prior to the SC they just bought premierships coz it was legal. Supporting Carlscum is approval of corruption. Without their ability to buy success they've got nothing, nothing at all. S****est club in the league. A turd wrapped in tinsel. I live in the north and love every 2m of it, but I never forget to spit out the window every morning as I pass that festering dungheap of a club that stinks up my favorite dog park. May it fall into a bottomless sinkhole during a combined premiership reunion, and the council plumb the sewer outlet into the open chasm.

I don't know why I dislike Carlton so much. I know they used to be a great side, but now they just seem anaemic and lifeless. There's just nothing about them of any interest, and I'm enjoying their pain. I've taken a dislike to Hawthorn due to their dreadful brown and yellow kit, which makes them look like overripe bananas, and also their conceit. No explanation required as why I don't like Essendon. I like to see the so called less fashionable Melbourne giving the traditional big boys a bloody nose, and don't mind North, Demons and Bulldogs, though that would probably change, if they became very successful.
Because you are a Saint.

Tried to gave us kicked out of the League in the 80's.

Bought flags in the 20th century

Arrogant fans ridiculing us as hopeless and themselves as great.

So 21st century where you need to draft and recruit with a salary cap.

4 wooden spoons
Longest time not to play in a Grand Final
Membership going south
0-7 worst start in club history
38 games without scoring 100

I hope nothing but ill will on Carlton. I would be happy to see them fold.

+1,000.

They as you mentioned still have some huge backers.......you can't help by wonder where they'd be without the 2 you mentioned.

I could tell you a few good stories about the fund raisers at Raheen too.

Watched North last night. They're cohesive, well drilled and apart from missed shots on goal, extracting every last inch.

Things they noticeably do better than us:

* tackling
* hardness
* shepherding
* using the corridor
-- these 4 ^^^ were the most obvious

* kicking, field and lesser degree goal
* contested marking (Wood played like a Hall of Famer ffs)
* defensive 50 scrap and pressure

Pingers Cross The Dreaded $30 Barrier As Bomber Thompson Leaves The State Of Victoria
May 7, 2018 - by Inside Sauce

Street prices for popular party drugs have skyrocketed over the weekend, with sources linking the uptick in value to the departure of one of the state’s prominent sources, who is believed to be making beeline for the west coast of Australia.

“I haven’t paid this much for a pinger since the great drought of 2013,” said one anonymous nightclub-goer, referring to a massive bust that saw tens of thousands of ecstasy tablets confiscated in a raid in South Melbourne.

The figure at the center of the latest upturn is former Essendon and Geelong coach Mark Thompson, who is on bail, facing multiple trafficking charges and not particularly interested in hanging around to see what happens.

Maybe.

Starting to think the draft system coupled with FA is having the effect of having teams like the Hawks, Swans and Cats to never go down the ladder

Tigers had the superstars prior to the compromised draft, Bulldogs seem to be the outlier and a one off.

The high quality players gobbled up over the compromised drafts seem to only go to the top teams therefore making FA pretty useless.
Look at us Carlton and Essendon. Us and Carlton have gone backwards.

Essendon pick up top up players in Stringer , Saad, and Smith where 'experts' said would have them top four.

These players have failed do far.

If us or North or other rebuilding teams cant land a Lynch or Sloane or even a Gaff and they go to a big club, the competition is in huge strife.

How much longer will teams who are not constantly topped up by FA or bogus academies have their supporters stay loyal?

We can see how sick we are of it already.

Imagine this IPL type of comp because it seems thats the way its going.

I thought the bombers would go really well this year with the top ups they got. Saad stringer etc.
