Guys, does South Melbourne still exist as a club in some form a la Fitzroy, or has it completely gone?

They still have junior football club so I imagine they might still play seniors as well. My kid played at Albert Park against them a few years ago and they had an electronic screen with a video montage of the old South Melbourne Swans teams and references to Bloods culture. I think they might have nothing to do with the original club though and just took some artistic licence with the IP of the Swans.

If only this were the 1600's you lot would be in awe...

Query was on Joel Wilkinson citing sexual harassment in a locker room filled with boys / men.

Statement was "I was a 9 year old in a locker room seeing naked grown men whipping towels, speaking with buttocks and doing all manner of things with male genitalia about 30mm from my face asking for autographs due to growth spurts occurring in later life."

It is entirely within the realms of possibility that Joel Wilkinson encountered sexual harassment in that locker room, in my experience it's to be expected.
The bit about the hooker needs re-telling :)

Yeah, I was just wondering whether the original clubs still exists in some capacity, as Fitzroy still does, despite the Brisbane move.
Jeez mate for a Pom and a ManU Pom at that ;), you have embraced the AFL history and all.

Kudo's.

Save up your pennies and get your arse down here for a holiday, but make sure you are about for a couple of live games.

That's south Melbourne districts, they play in the lower ammo grades.

They played in the old southeast league along with beaumaris both joined the ammos after the southeast became the southern league.

They played on an oval up around where msac now is and have no real affiliation with the old south melbourne.

Good point. Its the best grade of footy outside the AFL and the VFL and there are 7 grades from A grade down to g grade. They also have a lower grade called clubbies which is close to social. By the ammos stands for Amateur so no one should be getting paid. A lot of ex AFL players now play in the comp for nothing but the bigger clubs get them jobs which is allowed.

You could say it's like the tier system of English Football but teams don't get promoted and relegated.

Its actually the same if not harsher than Soccer because 2 out of 10 sides go up and down each year. In most grades there are 4 different sides out of 10 from the previous year.

Interesting to see what happens to Rossy in an hour or so.

If the rumours true that he is currently in board meeting with Fremantle big wigs then it doesn't look great.

A snap presser like this only really occurs if you're going to make change within the football club.

If it does eventuate then the question becomes who will replace him and how will the Dockers respond on Saturday night.

Just reckon if he is fronting then he stays and may actually try to explain what has happened.
