I feel we need specialist forwards playing as forwards with (happy to have a marking mid rotating forward between mid and bench). Backmen play in the backline. Mids play mostly in the midfield. Not good enough to make the top 6-7 forwards, 7-10 mids, 6-7 backs? Then it's the ressies until form picks up or injuries hit. It's not so much about variation by playing multiple positions, rather it's variation by sharing the load. How is 1 pressure forward meant to pressure 6 opponents? I could go on...

Could it be the club is looking at Clarke or Mumford or both? If it is both it could mean the club is not keeping Keefe and I would hope that at least 1 of the rucks is on the rookie list
So will it be Monday for any delistings?

If we have Clarke then I don't know why we would need Mummy.

Especially as we have Simpson, Flynm and soon Briggs

Simpson and Mumford first rucks (Injury risks over both)
Flynn I think would play forward/ruck
Briggs developing
I don't think it is within the rules but I would bring him over and have him play NEAFL somewhere and with the mid season rookie draft he could be picked up then
I don't think a player is allowed to train with the club apart from before the draft for 2 weeks but with the mid season draft an opportunity is there for the club to pick up a ruck from the state leagues if needed
The club needs to cover all possibilities and I think the Eagles may pick him up first

It's an interesting scenario. If we do that we would have to to satisfy him financially you'd think. Relocating with no guarrantee of being drafted. Would these payments be permitted if the UWS Giants made them? Outside the cap?

Could we be outbid in the draft?

Clarke isn't in the same galaxy, let alone league..
If he is REALLY cheap I could stand it, but most likely would be just another reason for me to hate this post season

That's peak mummy. Are we going to get him after a year off?

I saw him not that long ago, he is fit as hell, I'd back him in.
Clarke was delisted at 26 (when most rucks are entering their prime) for a reason.

I still think the Eagles will pick him up in the Rookie draft even though he played for Freo they could play him in the WAFL and he is playing the same league, they could have
Hickey, Vardy, Kennedy and Darling and as first choice talls
then
Clarke, Olango and Mcinnes as options as rucks or forward/rucks
unless they pick up one of the 10 ruck/forwards the Dockers have that they delist

I think the only way the Giants could do it is if they pick him up in the rookie draft or before the start of the season, I think it has a cut off date in the middle of march and then reopens in June

I can see if he was offerred a rookie list spot and games in the Eagies new reserve team minimum he'd very likely prefer that.
Unless there's a reason he wants to relocate or we offer a better chance or more money.

“The mid-season rookie draft will only be available to clubs that have a spare rookie position available.”

Does that mean we draft one less rookie to start with or does a new position entirely open up?
I believe the intent is to replace LTIs, hard to imagine a team would deliberately start the season short one
