But the only problem is who out of Weitering, Marchbank or Jones can play the lockdown defender that Rowe can play.
Weitering will eventually develop the strength and ability to lock down and intercept/rebound.

It's not fair to ask him to do that yet, but as a 23-24 old?

It'll be a collective effort. Docherty helps enormously in this regard in terms of setting up.

Even so. We will beat Freo (home), saints, GC, ? On port, adel, dogs, GWS, Hawks, Bris, freo (away). None of these teams are capable of belting us either.
Dogs have already beaten us. Hawks are better, Adelaide will improve as injuries subside, Port and GWS are simply more talented. Saints and Freo are opportunities but it wouldn't surprise if we didn't get another win. No issue though, our time will come.

Why do you say that? Are the Crows at it again trying to pilfer from us?
Saints need second round picks and I believe we are chasing one or two of their players and crows desperately want lukosis/rankine so may come knocking as their first pick is not high enough.Just a hunch.

If Wines wants back to Melbourne i'd be very disappointed if we were outbid by anyone.
If he decided he just didn't want Carlton then so be it but we must not be outbid here if he is available.
Cripps quite possibly shouldn't have played against Sydney and the shape he was in due to the workload he carries cannot continue.
Silvagni has been stockpiling salary cap dollars for a while now and the time has come to flex our muscle here.
We will have the capacity to get the deal done and must not die wondering.

Jones is an inexperienced backman having played there for half a season and you can see how inexperienced he is by how out of place he was without the leadership back there this year (finally hes working it out). Then you have Plowman and Marchbank (23 & 21 respectively) who aren't exactly seasoned players, and we are asking Weitering who is a 20 year old to be able to shoulder the most responsibility with leadership as well as take on the other teams best defender. Without Docherty to organise and without Rowe or ASOS as a mature, seasoned body to help out that is too much for a kid to take. I took a while to work out what the problem was, and its good to finally wrap my head around it. Rowe is back and Jones is starting to learn when to stay and when to leave his man. Weitering will come on and be one of the best defenders in the comp, he just had to do some learning along the way and we realise he is human after all.

Agree totally clearly Cripps shouldnt have played last week (couldnt give a rats about the oncoming bye) once again the tag team medical/fitness staff and MC with some of their finest .
We are doing a dam fine job in endeavouring to shorten Cripps career .

They had their chance and took Toumpas, I reckon that wouldn't sit well with me if I were Wines.
I'm not so sure that it would stop him going to Melbourne if the money is right and considering how they are faring at the moment.

Carlton passed up on Greg Williams twice when nobody knew who he was, didn't stop him joining the club later in his career and becoming a premiership player for the club.
