I’m not sure wher you found half these rookies, but there are other players not only knocking, but trying to break their way in to an AFL side.
Lloyd will have to go for a future 1st round and maybe their 1st this year for one of our seconds.
Bytel won’t make it that low and neither will Collier Dawkins
Dawkins is a chance to slide to a late 1st early 2nd, Bytel could also slide to a late 2nd

Couple of kids already firming into 1st rounders that were not on considered previously

In 5 years time when we're where we're supposed to be, we can all look back and laugh at how worried we were over all this....hopefully
I am hoping it will be a little closer than 5 years down the track, an 8 year rebuild would be very taxing on us all.

Sorry been away is most of this season but what's happened to Ben Silvagni? And didn't we gets the Crows 1st pick for our 2nd round pick for Gibbs?
Thanks.
Ben still playing school and under 18 footy. Played a few games in the carnival.

We traded Gibbs and our 2018 second and third round picks for the Crows 2017 Picks 10 (O’Brien) and 16 (on-traded to Bulldogs) and their 2018 second round pick.

We traded the 2017 Picks 16 and 40 to the Bulldogs for the 2017 Picks 28 (Kennedy), 30 (TDK) and their 2018 second round pick.

That's why I said "the names are debatable". It's more about type and what we will bring in. ;)

I'm fairly sure Polson Lang Pickett Kennedy have contracts for next year. The only "young" player yet to sign is LeBois and I was told it's not far away?
Maybe Glass-McCasker?

Not sure why we'd worry too much about LeBois.
Can understand giving him another rookie year, only for the fact we haven't another nimble, small goal-kicker.
Certainly wouldn't be giving him another year on the strength of game-performances though. Training performances look good but the two are poles apart.

I'd be happy should we give Penrith a rookie spot.
Has some rough edges but can find the ball, does take the game on and tackles as though his life depends on it.

JGM won't be here next year. LeBois is highly rated and will be staying. People told me the same about Polson. Penrith I don't think is up to it

Le Bois is highly rated? For what exactly? Certainly not possessions and if forward pressure comes into account, Penrith looks a lot harder to me.

LeBois also gets injured quite a bit and won't play again this year after doing a hamstring in the first 5 minutes of the weekends game.
If he does have soft tissue issues, I can't see the point of wasting a rookie spot on him.
We now have Agresta. Maybe with his input we can pull a Ronke or Papley out of the rookie draft. We shouldn't take it for granted any more, by topping up with Gallucci's, Shaws or O'Sheas.

This is the issue. Too much focus on on field performances by young players. LeBois is highly rated by the coaches. If not injured would be in the seniors.

Polson was the same and got a 2 year deal and started to show something on the weekend. Although I rate his talent it's the clubs opinion that is the most important

No matter how talented Lebois is, unless he starts getting on the park, it would be hard to continue persevering with him. Even when he is playing, he needs to be having a greater impact, than what he has shown. Replacing him, JGM and ASOS with BSOS and the Hickmott boys might be a better strategy

Understand the position, but I hope the club cover their bases and draft one or two possible replacements for him. They can rate him as highly as they want, but if he can't string more than 3 games in a row without getting injured, he's not gonna help us.

Extend him for a year, grab Kennedy-Harris for peanuts, rookie a mature ager as well. Play the best 1-2 of that lot from week to week. If they all come on, we have one of those fancy new-fangled small forward lines. Odds are at least one of them does, which at least means we have a balanced forward line.

Like we say with injuries hurting the team they also hurt individuals. Club will persevere with him for another year

IMO that's just deckchairs. Prefer to give players like LeBois Polson Pickett and more kids a go. I also expect Murphy to play more forward next year. I see a much more dynamic and improved forward line in 2019

I may be in the minority here, but I'm not convinced we should be moving on ASOS any more.
I'd sooner move on Rowe, not chase Collins and keep Alex, if indeed he is over his injury.
Why? Obviously makes an impact on the track and plays it as hard as anyone. He scares the young guys in the right way. I like that.

As has been stated, ASOS was brought in for his leadership qualities and back up, but nothing has changed in terms of his injuries over his career. We need to start moving away from guys like this and perhaps Collins adds more in terms of that shut down defender. ASOS can always be retained as that VFL captain as such, to retain his leadership qualities.

One way or another, I can't see ASOS and Rowe being retained, one needs to be moved on

The only way I'd want Collins is if we trade Jones to Sydney, which wouldn't surprise me as we may do very well out of that trade. e.g. Jones for Lloyd
Even so, if Weitering is to now settle into a back post, we have to start handing over that responsibility.

I know we've had injuries and that has stifled the progress of Marchbank & Macreadie, but the sooner we take off the kid gloves, the better.
