The league can't handle what it has now. Having players flip flopping around clubs as is happening isn't condusive to building fan base that cares. What happens when a Vescio or Davey leaves the club? How many kids will lose interest if their favourite players just keep swithing sides all the time?

Collingwood are the only ones really racing out of the blocks to sign their players in Victoria.

I assume we're shaking down Melbourne and the Dogs, but if it costs us players like Gay, we're not going to have too much to show for our work.

Which is why I always said they shouldn't have started the league half cocked. 5 years of starting closer to the grass roots game and build up from there was the best way to ensure this kind of crap didn't happen.

The Club also wishes to thank Madeline Keryk, Laura Attard, Kate Shierlaw and Sarah Last for their contributions to the AFLW program, having been delisted from the primary list today.

Not too surprised with those delistings, Shierlaw was probably the most useful of those and Keryk despite being VC in season 1 hardly got a game last year.

Several name players, including Carlton pair Sarah and Jess Hosking, are yet to appear on lists issued by the clubs or the AFL, although it is understood paperwork for multiple players was lodged with the AFL on Monday and will need to be ticked off before re-signings can be confirmed.

Carlton confirmed to AFL.com.au on Monday night it will announce its final list on Tuesday, as it was still meeting with several players.

She's not exactly stood out yet in what little I've seen of the VFLW, whereas Breann is dominating.

Either case, I don't think either would go high in the draft, could be picked up as rookies maybe if they don't get drafted by any club. but I'm sure Harf will be watching the rest of the VFLW season closely and thinking until the draft in October.

I'm only now realising that the article that said we got picks 14 & 21 for Gay before on-trading was specifying that they were the equivalent Victorian picks...

So we actually got picks 21 and 32, on-trading 32 for Barden.

Final order for us: 3, 16, 21, 27, 38, 40, 48 & 48
Equivalent Victorian picks: 3, 11, 15, 20, 26, 27, 31 & 32

Meanwhile Geelong has 3 top 10 Victorian picks, Collingwood 3 and Melbourne 2. Collingwood then have another 2 top 15 picks.

We shouldn't have bothered with Plane and Lucas-Rodd, and instead should have set ourselves up to get a FA to fill a need, then hit the draft. Not enough bold moves to re-invigorate this list, especially considering virtually every other Victorian club got in on that trade to bolster their draft order...

I think Dalton is a good chance to be a Cat B for us, but that's about all I've taken out of those game so far.

Amazingly, Geelong and North still have early access to anyone over the age of 18 that hasn't played AFLW yet. There goes a huge chunk of the Victorian pool I guess.
