Does anyone know how the VFLW runs and does it coincide with the AFLW as in are the clubs aligned with the same or similar players?

Hardiman is a loss, but not too fussed about KGJ.

KGJ was one of our few true athletes, she's a huge loss despite how little praise she gets. Coach her up, and she could have replaced Hardiman and then some.
Instead, we've got a kid who's 2 years away from any real impact, someone coming off an ACL, and a 34 year old.

Bugger. Hardiman was central to our defence. Kate was a handy utility. All the best. Thanks for the first two seasons.
An absolute garbage team just got a lot worse by losing one of it best players. No point watching any more.

As I've explained to you before, she's not a bonafide key defender, and will be less so as the AFLW evolves.
Given there's an expectation that we give up a perceived quality player (I mean the Dogs lost the AFLW B&F winner in Kearney...), she was by far the most expendable. The real problem is that we let KGJ walk with her. I hope that's because we have an immediate replacement that's a genuine and athletic KPD.
In terms of an immediate replacement for Hardiman, we have Stevens.
She is 110% a key defender in this league. She's 4cm taller than Davey and nobody would say she's not a KPD.
Then you put up the smaller and lighter Stevens up as a replacement.
This team is so devoid of talent that it can't afford to lose one of it's top 5 players. The Dogs can wear that because unlike our list they have a far more balanced list.
So much is resting on Davey staying. Hopefully the reports of her staying are right. If she goes this team will be easily the worst team in the comp.
In this midget league and at 175cm Hardiman is a KPD. Especially with her solid frame and football brain.

I think I'll rely on my own eyes and 200+ games of playing as a KPD to let me know who is and isn't a good KPD.
Dane Rampe and Jeremy McGovern prove height means nothing if you're a top line defender. At 175cm Hardiman wasn't undersized by a long stretch.
Given 3 short arses lead the AFLW in goal kicking this season I don't think there's going to all of a sudden be this influx of decent marking forwards any time soon.

Reads perfectly for us, but you'd think a lot of pieces would have to fall into place for us to net her signature this year.
