That's not the point I was trying to make. You're saying they have no debt and no pokie machines, I'm saying they have less overhead expenses meaning they don't need the extra money to support the extra resources that a club like us has. They are doing well but there are reasons why we have debt, thankfully it's been reduced now though.
Well I highly doubt they’re going to get back into Poker machines and have got a VFL team now and an AFLW team on the way. I’m not sure why anyone would take on an AFLW team if they thought it would send them into debt. Also doubt there’s significant costs involved with an AFLW team. Travel 4-5 times a season (max) sponsorship money, less full time staff and player wages would be low.

Yes, they don’t have to spend as much as we do. Yes we’re both debt free. But they look like being able to run their business without poker machine money. We don’t look close to that yet.

A start up team will usually run at a loss for the first few years before building it to a level that is profitable, much like most businesses I would imagine. Anywho, soz to hijack a membership thread, just think you're underestimating the commitment it takes to have what will be four separate teams this year for us, and three for the previous couple of years. If it was easy, every club would have a stand alone team in all state and development leagues.

On March 28 2017 we were on 38825 which is a week away. We are doing great considering missing finals.

But really, the effects of a premiership don't go away into thin air. Missing 40k calls were silly.

First 3 rounds crucial. 2 and 1 or 3 and 0 would give numbers a boost, 1 and 2 or worse and watch it slow to a trickle. That would be the same for most Vic clubs.

Trying to be most realistic, the first month:

GWS in Canberra- Loss
Eagles in Melb - Win
Bombers - 50/50
Swans in Melb- Loss

But those odds hasn't stopped us before.

Just got my prem gold membership and VFL membership in the mail.

I could have sworn that originally I was meant to get a picnic blanket with my VFL membership. Disappointed.

Not doing too bad. Only a bit slightly off compared to last year after a underwhelming 2017 season.

Need a good start to the 2018 season and to get that confidence up in us fans.

Does GA Home game membership give you access to Ballarat home games? Doesn't say anything on the site.
Depending on capacity I think, there is a specific Ballarat add-on that guarantees you a seat there otherwise it would be just like any other home game, except if you use it at Ballarat game(s), you won't get access to the replacement game(s).

Thanks Pugz, I did see that but I think it's only for members around the area.

From the site:

To be eligible for a Ballarat membership members must permanently reside in the following regions; Ballarat, Pyrenees, Ararat, Horsham, Southern Grampians, Moorabool, Hepburn, Central Goldfields and Northern Grampians.

Yeah. I'd love to see the figures on the effect on membership when playing your first game interstate (and losing) as opposed to having your first game in your home state.
Richmond and Carlton of course ALWAYS get a chance to set up their membership tents prior to round 1. Another reason why i hate the inequality of the draw.

Which is stouid, but to probably restrict it from overselling. I would imagine once capacity is increased, that will be scrapped.
