Oliver was the 2nd player chosen in my midfield last year .....was a great price

But not this year at his price ......he was a consistent 105 scorer, but i need more "peaks" at that price :
Oliver v Fyfe or Martin ?
No excuses Wayne. Make room.

Oliver & Titch are the new pigs in town.

i'll be starting with Danger. i dont want to have to screw about in round 7 trying to generate enough cash to get him in cause he's bottomed out at $620k.
wouldnt touch Selwood. i think if Ablett is taking points off anyone its him.

Ollies the one that stood tall when it counted...:D:thumbsu::thumbsu:

Nice.

I’d go Beams/Cripps to Titch/Oliver but that’s just me. $$$ permitting.
This is the issue .....not enough $$$

I'll carry two premium Mids from Rnd 1 .....but to carry 4, will weaken the remainder of my team ......i'll monitor Oliver, love his SC scoring for future years, but unconvinced of the investment required

Can I see the rest of your team?

That's one perspective .....the other is that i save a trade bringing Danger in, whilst those waiting for a price drop, burn a trade

I understand that it's only one trade ......but i burn't too many trades last year with this thinking

Incorrect. You need enough trades to get a full premo team plus cover injuries. In fact starting Danger because of his absurd starting price means less premo starters on other lines and possibly more trades in total to assemble a complete team (especially if Danger has a big price drop during the season and becomes more accessible to other coaches who want to trade him in).

Understand the logic of your argument, it's a good one .....but lets say, i trade Danger to Mitchell @ $653K ......i save $100K, but that doesn't necessarily help getting another premium ?

Plus .....i still need to plan for my (C) & (VC)

Ain’t that the truth lol. Nice team mate.

If you really wanted Oliver/Titch I would probably go Hanley/DeGoey to Birchall/Rioli.
:thumbsu: checking Birchall v Hanley stats that maybe a good move ......just have to think about the dual position options Hanley provides

Rioli ....i'm just not trusting his body till he gets some games under his belt .....this could be a big year for De Goey ?

To be honest the number of trades that you need in total isn't hugely influenced by your starting lineup. If anything it has most to do with selecting the right rookies and cashing them in at the right time.

Certainly there is an advantage having Danger as a Captain choice right from R1. But at his price he still needs to start like a house on fire. Last year I think he averaged about 140 for the first 3 rounds and yet still he wasn't a must have. Basically I'm hoping someone else will match his output in the first part of the season so you don't lose much on the captaincy choice. I'm confident between Mitchell and Fyfe I will have the Captain options to go without Danger.

Of course if he kicks off with a few 160s and 180s then those who start Danger clearly win. But the odds are against this.

Thoughts on Coniglio?

Great value @ 450k, will see how he goes in pre-season but he's in my team atm

Yep, got my eyes set on him.

I usually try have no more than 3 GWS players, but with him and Lobb looking like great value picks, I might have to break that rule this year. Setterfield is the other one I've got my eyes on.

Thoughts on Keefe? Depth only I assume..

Some of our key defenders have proven to be quite injury prone in the past though, so maybe he'll get a crack. But as it stands, I don't see him getting many games as we've got some handy tall defenders holding their spots in Haynes, Corr, Davis and Tomlinson. His ability to play key position on either end as well as ruck helps his chances though

Feeling good about JPK. Don't know why, just think he's so cheap for his potential.

Anybody else thinking of starting him in 2018?
You could make a case for any of the Sydney big three. I’ve has JPK every year since 2013 and only last year he let me down.
