The ump clearly warns Hawkins not to touch him and Hawkins ignored that warning = suspended.
At no time did the umps feel threaten or impacted by the curnows.
Ed appears to push the ump. Was it forceful? Only the ump can say.
The umps should be protected from intentional contact.

A poster previously mentioned a rewording of the 'rule' to allow the umpire to report the player if they deem it appropriate.
This would then be referred directly to tribunal and remove the mrp step.

Just quietly Dangerfield needs a quiet reminder that he is the AFLPA president when he comments and not Tom Hawkins mate.
Funnily enough Dangerfield didn’t mention Gregson not getting reported for touching the ump! Should he now be outraged on behalf of the Curnow brothers?

The worst part of his interview was that he was speaking as the President of the AFLPA. AS President he had no hesitation in throwing two of his members under the bus. Unbelievable.
Dangerfield needs to listen to the Paul Marsh (CEO AFLPA) interview on SEN yesterday morning. The most balanced response on the incidents I’ve heard to date.....can someone attach it, and send a copy to Dangerfield.

Ultimately isn't this rule trying to protect umpires. I appreciate trying to remove ambiguity but if an ump doesn't recall an incident or has no issue with it common sense should prevail. No way a dusty or buddy miss a gf because of one of these minimal indiscretions
And isn't that a shame?

One rule for them, another for the good ordinary footballers, whose only sin was to be born with less talent or less marketability...

Probably more so that public outcry would be huge and the corrupt afl wouldn't want gf week being hijacked. So they would suddenly weasle out of it like they always do.

So today is the day we get screwed by the AFL.
Be nice if they bought us a drink first.

Candles, soft music, put on your best lingerie, get you warmed up for what's coming by having Gerard and Robbo tease you about how much you want it.
