The last two GFs, in particular the AFL VFL aided and abetted Richmond-fest GF has made this season so much better for me.

Now I don’t get so worked up over a win or a loss because I know in the end, no matter how good the team is, you’ll be pushing shit up hill to get the win in the GF. That is of course if you get past a resident of the MCG on your way to the GF. It’s farcical.
This is exactly how I feel.

I enjoy watching the games but the playing field is so uneven I have no realistic hopes that the moons will align for us to win a flag.

Wouldn't mind playing an injured ravaged interstate side who were unfairly forced to travel the week before...then we might have a chance ;)

Man some of the whinging on the last few pages about Richmond and the GF, sounds like some people are really bitter still.

The GF being at the MCG isn't a new concept and is not going to change any time soon. Rightly or wrongly, the AFL has locked in the GF at the MCG for many more years to come.

Claiming that the Crows would have won the GF last year if it was played at AO will not change anything. As much as I was gutted by the result last year, we need to build a bridge and get over it. The result is done and can't be changed.
Amazes me how some roll over and just accept injustices. "Tickle my belly".

I didn't sat The Crows would have won but I would almost guarantee Richmond would not have been there. Geelong in Geelong, Adelaide in Adelaide - yeah, no chance.

Exactly. Richmond will forever be recorded 2017 premiers...inequalities have given them a flag they would not have got close to.

I also wonder how Bulldogs would've gone at the SCG in 2016?

If the AFL wanted to try and make it an equal playing field, then at least let all Prelim finals that involve one Victorian and non-Victorian team, be played in the state of the Non-Victorian team.

For me thats the best compromise.

In 2018, Tigers would have played their prelim v GWS at Spotless

In 2017, Sydney would have played at home.

"Roll over and accept injustices"

I hardly think ol' mate Gil reads the Adelaide Bigfooty boards. Bitching about the MCG being the location of the GF is likely to have the same chance of resolving the issue as me complaining to my cat about that weird guy at work. Zero.

If you feel that strongly about it and wanted to actually have a tiny chance of making an impact, you'd be doing something besides posting about it on Bigfooty. Unless you've got a dump truck full of money that you'd like to give to the AFL it will almost certainly still be a waste of your time, but almost anything would be more effective than posting about it on a random internet forum.

There is a difference between acknowledging the situation is acceptable and understanding the reality and getting on with it.

Of course it is a crap situation the GF is played at a ground where it is common that one of the comleting clubs plays at least 14 games a year at. But it is the reality.

The GF is at the G for the next four or so decades. It won't change. The "if, buts and candied nuts" discussion about possible outcomes of a GF that is played elsewhere are irrelevant to the reality of the situation.

We lost a Grand Final whilst leading at half time because our players came out after half time thinking "It is only Richmond" and played like the win would just happen. And our coaches did not identify key issues across the ground and rectify them before Richmond took hold of the momentum.

There is no-one or nothing else to blame for that loss other than our club.

What GF are you talking about? The one I attended saw the Crows behind at half-time.

Quarter time we lead. I was wrong about half time.

My point still stands. We were good enough to lead at some point during the game. It is our guys that let us down not the venue.

I have this attitude because I refuse to accept that if we play to the best of our ability we can't beat anyone anywhere. We didn't play well in that GF.

The GF was one of our worst performances of the year.

People want to talk hypotheticals, play that game a week later at the G and we probably win. It is a shame our Fitness Team have let us down so poorly this year (and last year as well 2hich also made a GF day impact) as I am pretty confident if we have most of those nine or so guys who are missing now playing Richmond at the G in a few weeks time we will belt them.

We may still beat them with the side we have in the park now.

What killed us was that we kicked 1.8 for the next two quarters. Had we kicked instead 6.3 we would have been still in the game at 3/4 time.

We were down by almost 6 goals at 3/4 time. All Tigers really needed to do was kick a couple of goals to win the game from that stage. Anyways the players were genuinely shot before the gf in any case. They simply didnt rock up.

Touching players is just not on. I'd expect more than a reprimand.
Take away his membership and issue an AO barring order.

Now imagine if that was a guy doing that to an AFLW player..........

I am 100% convinced Tex and the boys had overdosed on Koolaid and bathwater leading up to that game and thought all they had to do was rock up and take the cup.

Also believe Pyke knows the mindset of the team is a bit like that and the Stance and Mindfulness training is about eradicating that attitude from our playing group.

Wasn’t there meant to be a huge announcement over in China? KT was alluding to it when he was over there.
Port have partnered with Mr Gui to create an ECommerce platform to make business between China and Australia easier. Mr Gui also pledged more support to grow the game in China.

There must be another large Cattle station up for sale in Australia.

Well you’d be wrong. No chance they just rocked up thinking they would win.

They shat themselves and nerves got to them.

Pyke had them spending 8 hours over 2 days meditating so they wouldn’t be overawed.

I dont buy the nerves either, we were VERY good for most of that first quarter.

We ran outta legs and fit players, that was what cost us.

I haven’t watched it again so I may be wrong, but I don’t buy we were very good in the first.

We were efficient in scoring but my memory was Richmond seemed to be on top around the ground.
