Michael Christian talking about the tribunal/reports on Fiveaa...

"we don't want to see players like Dustin Martin missing games for that do we?"

"If we fined a Lance Franklin"

I haven't even seen the incidents but language like that suggests we've still got one set of rules for the "stars" of the game and another set for the rest.
So f**king corrupt.

Apparently May from the GC is interested into heading to Port next year. In a two team town where one club is able to entice quality players to join and the other can't even entice quality players to stay, that's a big FU to the AFC culture and to the board and administration who have managed this club over the last decade.
Not really. May is a B grader like all the other B graders or worse. They’re a dumping ground for spuds.

Compare players we’ve gotten over the years to what they’ve gotten. We smash them and it’s not even close.

TBH I thought Martin did SFA. He was trying to explain something and touched the umpires arm.

Good news I guess as we definitely have a pick before them now you’d think
Yeah they would have got a tasty draft pick for him.
Should pressure their salary cap more as well - even though it seems to be a bottomless pit for them.
Heard a week ago or so that Wines will become their highest paid player ever.

Good luck to them, I've always been convinced that he was going to sign one more to see through the Ryder, Gray, Boak era to see if he can win a flag before going back to Melbourne.

Will be interesting to see how long he's signed on for.

Port seem to be able to bring in players on reasonable money every year, we lose Dangerfield and cant even afford to keep our players

That's because we have that stupid "sharing the pie" philosophy at Adelaide, we overpay the middle tier players and tend to underplay the top tier players.

Port on the other hand pay most of their cap to the top tier, which is why a lot of their middle tier players like Trengove, Logan Austin, Impey etc left for bigger deals else.

Seen their depth ?? It's pretty easy to see in my opinion, that once you start handing out a whole bunch of mid tier contracts like we have, your salary cap is going to run out real quick. If we want genuine top end talent and to pay them as such, we need to thin out a lot of contracts.

Left for bigger deals? We all know why Impey left and Austin, Trengove left for opportunity.

Port don't play blokes like Hampton, Menzel and Mackay $400-$500K a year.

LOL

Impey was a walk up start to your side and even Hinkley said that he wanted him to stay. Impey went for a better deal at the Hawks

If Port didn't need a player of Impey's ilk then why are Port playing Motlop 650-700k a year ?

The last goal of the showdown pretty much showed why, every chance Impey would have shanked that kick.
