WTF is Fyfe still there for ?

What a rabble

He’s wasting his career there. Wonder if they’ll transition from Lyon to Hird. If you remove the drugs thing and look at it purely from a coaching ability standpoint then imho Hird is the better coach. Lyon is past it.

Happy page 119 I guess, we can still mention 119 right, we weren't THAT bad?

So Port's profit was closer to $1 than it was to ours. Should our club buy a couple of ATMs and sponsor the Power with all of that spare cash? Would get our brand in front of an alternate demographic.

Oh HELL NO.

How is this guy not banned for life? Oversees the systematic (well, not so systematic by all reports but at least ongoing) administration of banned performance-enhancing drugs to an entire AFL team, gets caught, blames everyone else, not once accepts any culpability, still believes he and the club did no wrong, yet nek minnit, is in line for a well paid job back in the very system he sued, fought, discredited, and brought into disrepute. Sheesh, just wait 'til I'm captain of the universe, this shit won't happen!

Look, I know what Hird did was bad but he has obviously suffered a lot, he tried to kill himself and spent 5 weeks in a psych ward, he’s now selling chocolate.

The chances of him reoffending are zero, give the guy a break and if this position helps him get his life back together, I’m all for it and the public should leave him alone. None of us are angels.

He had numerous chances to come clean, to save his and other people's careers. His ego didn't allow it. He chose to be a prick. Let him sell chocolates.

I agree. Everyone deserves a chance at redemption.

Bahahaha, just Googled - http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/ja...a/news-story/7b505b4b43d5eae76e33f90235ab1cf3

He's selling chocolate from cacao beans grown in Colombia, a place which was previously the drug capital of the world. I swear you couldn't write this stuff.
Paywalled. But I never pictured him standing on a lonely corner with a tray of chocolates slung around his neck yelling out "get ya chocolates here." Hird is far from being on the bones of his backside.

Yeah they do. He's already had ample opportunity to redeem himself. When is enough enough? Ben Cousins comes to mind.
If he had maybe done something to try and protect the 30 odd players he had injected with God knows what I might have some sympathy for him. The entire time he seemed more interested in protecting himself rather than trying to get to the bottom of everything for the sake of the players.

So what's the significance of 119?

Sorry but he endangered lives of athletes and didn't and still doesn't care about that. He has never taken responsibility for his actions and while he has mental health issues, he should not be welcome back into any sporting environment or an environment where he is responsible for other people's health and wellbeing. He knew better at the time and didn't care.

Still doesn’t care? How do you know?

Do you think he would reoffend?

Yes. Just like other athletes and coaching staff and countries continue to reoffend. Hello Russia. Winning is everything and he has shown he doesn't care.

If he cared, he would admit what he ordered put into the players so they know instead of them having to be continually tested for life because they don't know what they were given. Many of the possible substances in use are ones that have been identified to speed up cancerous growths btw. How would that make you feel as an athlete? If he cared he would have apologised to those players. If he cared about anyone but himself he wouldn't have kept doing all the pointless law suits past the point of him being told he couldn't win and to stop it. He only cares about himself purely when you look at his actions before, during, and since.

I also think Goodwin shouldn't be allowed to coach and I think everyone involved should have been ousted never to return. I've worked in the area of ethics in this country and what happened at Essendon was downright horrifying and how no one is in jail is only because the AFL don't want that to happen.
