Let's have a look this decade...I respectfully disagree.
Wells keeps things simple, doesn't try to outsmart himself.
He should get someone else in to help him with drafting.Isn't wells also in charge of their trading?
I think you need you need to take into account their total trading and drafting to judge wells.

Maybe. But the last few years his strategy is based on getting quality ready made players cheaply through trade and faHe should get someone else in to help him with drafting.![]()
not bad ..
has pretty pictures .
but it is missing something .
hmmmmm
this one is better I think .....

Sometimes you have to sacrifice your dean core types to get a patty Dangerfield& destroying their depth & lacking quality youngsters.![]()
But they were original in going to China & that looks like a stunning success...So, you've completely taken my hilarious concept, and changed the name?
How original.
Kinda like Port really - an uninspiring, boring club that no one here is interested in, just flat out copying the Crows in an effort to seem relevant, and failing on all counts.
Maybe. But the last few years his strategy is based on getting quality ready made players cheaply through trade and fa
They sacrificed more than Gore.Sometimes you have to sacrifice your dean core types to get a patty Dangerfield
Given they have had to replace so many retiring guns, they need to improve their drafting & development, because just trading won't solve their issues.Yeah I see where you're coming from, but really its trade + draft.
Maybe their development team has issues?
They've been up for a while.Given they have had to replace so many retiring guns, they need to improve their drafting & development, because just trading won't solve their issues.
For their glory years yes, but their overall list quality has declined significantly of late. They've been up for a while.
They deserve a lot of credit imo
Let's have a look this decade...
2010 - Smedts 15, Guthrie 23, Horlin-Smith 37, Schroeder 54 , Pods 58, Walker the only decent rookie of 4.
2011 - Hamling 32, Kersten 34, Murdoch 48, McCarthy 66, Stephenson 78, Bews 86, Biclavs only decent rookie of 3
2012 - Thurlow 16, Hartman 77, Stringer 92
2013 - Lang 16, Jansen 36, Kolo 41, Walker 54 Burbury 63, 4 dud rookies
2014 - Cockatoo 10, Gregson 47, Gore 55, Cunico 59, 3 dud rookies
2015 - Gardiner 59, Menegola 66, Buzza 69, Hayball 70, Parsons & Ruggles of 3 rookies
2016 - Parfitt 26, Stewart 40, Ratagloea 43, Narkle 60, House 68, Abbott 69, Z Guthrie & Simpson 2 of 4 rookies
2017 - too early to call.
Of their 1st round picks, they don't yet have an established gun. Nakia looks the most promising.
There are only 6 players remaining who you would consider best 22.
Most players are no longer on Geelong's list.
Compare to the Crows drafting over the same period & it does not stack up well.
Drafting has been following that strategy too. Drafted Tim Kelly (23) and Stewart Crameri (29) this year, Tom Stewart (23) last year, Sam Menegols (25) and Tom Ruggles (26) in 2015. They use their VFL side pretty heavily to try out potential mature age recruits, probably why they grabbed Gore and Sam Siggins this year.Maybe. But the last few years his strategy is based on getting quality ready made players cheaply through trade and fa
It was discussed at length. It was funny, it was like the commentators had never really watched him play before. They quickly came to the realisation that his ability to defend 1 on 1 isn't very good. It will be interesting hearing the commentary on this throughout the year.Has Lever played yet? Thought there’d be a bit of analysis of the way Melbourne use him.
Look through those glory years ... see how many father-son picks they got AND the players they got with the picks that the father-son picks should have cost. For their glory years yes, but their overall list quality has declined significantly of late.
Welcome to ten years agoI’m done with the Main Board. Basically it’s just an excuse for the usual suspects to write absolute crap about the Crows. The mods really should be deleting so much more crap than they do. The Main Board is a joke.
I just found out VB is West Coast midfield coach now.
Anywho, same story said that Nic Nat still not ready to resume from his ACL. Didn’t he do the injury late 2016 last round or there about. That’s 18 months has anyone followed why so long it seemed like a fairly innocuous incident from what I can remember.
