So, from what I can gather from what AFL360 just said, the victim made a complaint to PAFC but doesn’t wish to involve the police? Not sure if they have all the facts, but that seems a bit weird.

Or did she make it public through social media first and PAFC found out from that, after the fact?
That's not weird at all, sexual assault is chronically underreported to police, the process to try and get a conviction is such a re-traumatising thing for the alleged victim that many choose - and are sometimes even advised by counsellors etc for mental health and recovery reasons - not to press charges.

She told them last night about it as AFL360 said. C7 did their gutter journalism that they are renowed for in response to hearing about it in some way. Women not wanting to report it to the police is more common than those that actually do end up getting reported.
How do we get to ch7 gutter journalism?

Someone would have had to tell them

She would have consented to the interview

Ch7 just doing their job

Spoon-fed. You don't think that changes a kids upbringing?
Sure it does, as many other things do. Got nothing to do with suggesting that a 20yo is just a kid.
Who’s to say he was spoon fed? I thought the story was that he grew up in a pretty rough situation.

Unfortunately now we don't get the journalism we should. C7 still has Today Tonight going when it got canned in the rest of the states because of their "journalism" and the way they pressured subjects etc. I know a crime reporter in this state and even the ABC is shocking in their lack of ethics in respect to some cases that have occured over the years.

How? They'd have girls clamouring over them, they'll be accoladed through out school... Normal behaviour for most 16yo boys?
I went to school with 4 AFL listed footballers of varying degrees of talent. None of those guys were given the attention you describe.

I mean the fact that she contacted the club to make the issue known, but not wanting to involve law enforcement. Like, making it official, but not wanting police involved. I find that weird. If that is, in fact, what happened. I’m still not entirely sure. Hard to tell by what information I have seen so far.

PREEMPTIVE DISCLAIMER: I AM JUST ASKING QUESTIONS. I AM NOT VICTIM BLAMING WHATSOEVER. STICKING YOUR HAND UP SOMEONE’S SKIRT UNINVITED IS GROSS AND I DISAPPROVE. IN FACT I ALMOST SMASHED THE SHIT OUT OF SOMEONE FOR DOING THAT TO MY SISTER ONCE.

What the f*** has that got to do with what age you should stop being considered a kid or stop using it as an excuse for being a wanker?
Pull your head in, you seem to have a bent angle on this.
I’m not being pious or burning the bloke. I just don’t buy the “he’s only a kid” angle.
So no then. :'(

I'm just joking. Nobody knows what happened yet.

+1

Got "friends" in the DPP, plenty of people turn out good despite having very rough situations while growing up.

Similarly also, plenty of people who have had good up bringing turn up bad.

I can imagine, if I put myself in those shoes for a moment, wanting the alleged perp to face some kind of consequences but also not wanting to go through a police process, trial and all the public scrutiny and retraumatisation that goes with that.

This is the kind of middle ground someone in that mindset might seek.

Whilst thats true, you'd have a fair idea of what your mates are like and if they're bellends then don't give them anything.
I can almost guarantee that AFL Clubs educate young players as soon as they arrive about the types of people in a players lives that they should and shouldnt be having.
