It’s fun to laugh at Port not getting a sponsor but the reality is it’s a black mark on SA as a whole.

Really, they should be a good second tier sponsorship option for a company wanting to get involved with an AFL club

Just reading about Harley Davidson shutting a factory in North Plympton

It’s because we as a State lack any real commercial activity that no corporates want to support us.

Thank god for Toyota (who gives a shit if it’s Toyota or the dealerships ... CMI one of the biggest private businesses in SA for what it’s worth).

Need to also take into account Ports reluctance or lack of movement into the social media world, Buy moving the club to be more Local and pushing we are a true local club, Even their supporters are more concern with being local and have a locally based Club room ( which most have never been too). Which is the polar opposite of the Crows (more so since Chapman taken over) and their direction to be more off a National brand?
But Ports biggest mistake is not been seen as taking the AFLW or the SANFLWomen serious enough, perception is important in gaining sponsors.
Yes, they have there China push but that is not selling Products in Australia. Put the 3 together and what do you get.
And Port football is seen as a Local Club in their own country, While they are pushing into the male-dominated world of China?

Instead of Gerard Whately ? ...... short term ( whilst Whately is in USA doing Super Bowl) I assume ?
No, Whately has Friday’s off due to him calling Friday night footy.

So you’re stuck with Kornes for good, or until the ratings drop on Friday’s.

He won't last ......Melb radio so so different to Adelaide .....they eat their young here

Didn’t Whately move to breakfasts?
Moved from the ABC ....or should i say, "Head Hunted" by Craig Hutchinson, who's now the CEO ........and getting paid $880K per annum on top of his Croc Media profits

Just shows there's still a chance for everyone :p

Harley shut Castalloy (along with another one in the US that's 6 times the size) because their bike sales are dropping heavily (down 10%). Not much to do with SA but international factors (though they were renting the premises for $0 subsidised by the Government already).

Pity because that was a success story for a while (as a niche exporter of high-value goods).

Portz could always ask SA Roadworks to sponsor them. Seems to be one of the flourishing things going in this state.

The funny thing about it was Koch and his big mouth saying they had companies "lining up" back in September - since then / not a peep.

BTW - didn't notice any references in their financials to the Magpies and what they contributed to Powas profit.
One club ?
One big fat joke !

I'd like to see that, reckon it would last about as long as Bernie lasted in the jungle, don't reckon Bernie could handle the "Pitman" treatment at all well.

Hewitt: I’d like to see Blight handle Bernard Tomic

Lleyton Hewitt admits he’d loved to see how Malcolm Blight would have handled Bernard Tomic.

The controversial 25-year-old Australian tennis star has again been in the headlines this week after sensationally leaving the jungle just a few days into the filming of reality TV show ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’.

On Sportsday SA on Tuesday night, Malcolm Blight asked Davis Cup captain Hewitt if he believes Tomic is a waste of time.

To which Hewitt replied: “All I’d like to say is that I would have liked to see him in your (Adelaide Crows) team in ‘97/98 and see how you handled it.

“As ‘The Messiah’ in South Australia, I could learn a few tips from you I reckon.”

I just realised how many past players have gone on to be assistant/development coaches at Port Power with 7 former player coaching at Port with three still there now. Those were
Bold = ones currently at Port
Shaun Rehn
David Pittman
Tony McGuinness
Trent Hentschel
Nathan Bassett

Tyson Edwards
Scott Thompson

Not bad I say for a team that Port rubbish and say has a shit culture and are a plastic franchise. I am personally really looking forward though to having Josh Francou on board, should provide some good knowledge from his time at the Sydney Swans and help improve our forward line.
