Head in the sand attitude - your club was a failure financially in the SANFL. It will continue to suck dry other more profitable clubs and why? It’s membership demographic. It is pretty simple to understand but hey only business people understand this. It’s why you have the circuses!

Lol. It reads like a drunken emotive bigfooty rant. Even in the first line there are 2 factually incorrect statements:

"..... 1991 and the creation of Adelaide FC to play in the VFL drained so many players that the SANFL competition was reduced to nine teams. Once again, Woodville FC was folded – this time into its western suburbs neighbor"

Firstly in 1991 it was called the AFL, not the VFL although I suspect VFL was used emotively, secondly Woodville did not fold into anybody, West Torrens folded into them as they were insolvent.

The rest of it is just wishy washy statements, vague correlations and bullshit numbers (Did you know that the Player Retention scheme was the reason Adelaide were able to assemble such a strong team- did ya?)

It's the SAFC Annual Report people, they can write whatever they want because the know only 3 people will read it.

I guess that instead of waiting for sanity to be restored, they fell for the VFL's gambit, they jumped in early before $$$ pushed some Vic clubs out of the league... and here we are

Was listening to Fiveaa this afternoon and I'm not kidding but Bicks and Rowe rated the new Port leadership group as possibly the best in the comp.

Then they proceeded to mention other players that could be there such as Wingard and Hombsch insisted that they too could slot in without fuss.

Mentioned that due to Ports fantastic culture Dixon and now Rockliff now demand a spot on that leadership group!

Claremont

Despite lacking the “enforcer” needed to win many flags under pressure, between 1979 and 1994 Claremont played in the finals every year bar 1985 and 1992, and under Gerard Neesham’s extremely innovative coaching methods and “chip and draw” style, they won twenty and drew one of their last 21 games in 1987. Neesham’s skill was such that Claremont reached five successive grand finals for three flags despite the loss of most key players to the VFL (later AFL).

After 1994, Claremont’s fortunes declined somewhat, and financial difficulties threatened their existence in the middle 1990s. However, at WAFL level they managed to remain competitive throughout the 1990s and 2000s if never threatening for a premiership until 2004, when they were thrashed by Subiaco in the grand final, a fate which befell Claremont again in 2005 from South Fremantle.
