Wow is that how it works?
So is it the same for the 5am to 6am timeslot? As it is all advertised similarly to Sports day SA.

AA control most of their content 6 am to 6 pm but I don’t listen to 5AA at all, so I don’t know the advertising content but I thought I read that’s how the SportsDaySA show originally started with CrocMedia having control.

AA are owned by the same group who own Nova919. So they just sell air time.

I could be wrong and happy to be corrrcted if that’s not how it works.

Huh ? .......he manages "Victims of Ink" , owned by his partner in crime, Toby Mitchell .....seriously ?

It's just his lawyer trying it on so Jake avoids a recorded conviction. You can't blame the lawyer for trying that, he/she are just doing their job representing their client.

Serious charges, and likely to be facing a lengthy custodial sentence.

In which case Jake may have a completely new "job".

Their big sports don't have a salary cap...
It's just MLB that doesn't have a salary cap (they have "luxury taxes" that are sufficiently harsh as to constitute a de facto cap, but no official cap mechanism). NBA, NFL, NHL all do (some are more strict than others). Those three also have salary floors, which is far more important -- MLB's lack of a salary floor has resulted in a disaster of an offseason where competitive teams are being sold off for scrap so the owners can reap the profits and genuine superstars are still without a team with training camps opening in just a couple weeks. Imagine if Melbourne, after finishing ninth, traded out Oliver, Petracca, Gawn and Viney and replaced them with rookie picks. That's what's happening in MLB right now.

There are aspects of the American system that the AFL could learn from: Longer first contracts, especially for high draft picks, should be a priority for the league, and free agency compensation in the AFL makes no sense. Player contracts not being made public is also something that confounds me, coming from the American leagues. But the American system, even in broad strokes, isn't a great fit for the AFL's circumstances -- in some cases, it isn't even a good fit for the American leagues.

:p Darcy Lang

CARLTON has secured speedy Geelong youngster Darcy Lang for pick No.58 and a swap of future fourth-round picks.

The Blues won the race for Lang's services ahead of North Melbourne and Gold Coast.

Lang played 44 games and booted 31 goals for the Cats after being taken with pick No.16 overall in the 2013 NAB AFL Draft.

The 21-year-old could have stayed at Geelong but leaves in search of more midfield opportunities.

How should they have done it?

I'm not familiar with US sports at all

Most importantly, if the AFL was going to introduce free agency they absolutely had to change the trading rules to allow teams to trade players to any team without their consent. At the moment we're stuck with a system that essentially allows players to walk out on their club at any time and demand a trade to another club of their choice, in addition to the free agency option. When a player such as Lever walks out on the Crows whilst not eligible for free agency, the Crows should have been able to trade him to whichever club made the best offer. At present, the players have the best of both worlds.

Secondly, teams should have more control of younger players, with longer rookie contracts. This would stop a Brisbane-like situation where players such as Aish walked out of the club 2 years after being drafted and gave the Lions no leverage at all.

And to address someone's other point, the NBA, NFL and NHL do operate under a salary cap.

Motlop is the big loss there. He is an out-and-out gun and destined for the 2018 Brownlow.

So I've heard.
I think Jack Watts will take votes from Motlop.
