Go back to when this started to happen, the one club push, the push be regarded as the only community club in South Australia, The big push position your team supporter base as being locals.
And look at your slow start in jumping on the social media bandwagon, and yes you are on the wagon today but you lost ground a lot of ground.
But your clubs total lack of pushing for a women team in both the AFL or SANFL and then coming up with a pitiful we would rather support grassroots Women's football 5 years after you push that same team out of your club.That hurt Port more than you think or understand. Port should have argued more for a team. they chose to hide.
Here a big hint Women make up a Huge pacentage in the marketing departments of major national companies. I know I have worked with some of them and they are not Dumb far from it. and they know who are the biggest spenders and therefore where to put their marketing dollars.
So again Prove me Wrong, if not go back to your own backyard. I am sure there will be other that will pat you on your back and agree with you.

Didn't Graham Cornes made some big statement a couple of months ago telling Crows supporters to stop bringing up Port not having a sponsor because he was told that they already had a huge name lined up to replace Renault which was about to be announced?
Looks like Cornes was fed bullshit either by Kane or Rucci (most likely Rucci) in the hope that by Cornes mentioning it that it would stop it being brought up.

In fairness though it would be exciting to be able to announce a new major sponsor every year. I mean we are pretty boring having the same major sponsor for almost the last 30 years. Guaranteed income is so yesterday

I mention this several years ago, also mention you would lose Renault if you do not offer them a National footprint, as your club direction at the time was a more local of a local focus, Your Chairman has mentioned it. your CEO has mentioned it, Port needs a national footprint or national exposure to garner more sponsors. The AFL will not do that Port need to do that, their failure to push for a women's team has and will hurt them.
China could be good for them but will it secure a long-term sponsor.

They lost Renault
They gave Renault major sponsorship at a discount price in the hope it would add stability to attract other sponsors, and it worked to a degree.
But then they signed Oak as a “joint” major sponsor at “joint rates.
Renault goes because Port now want full rates, and Oak doesn’t want to pony up to be a major sponsor in its own right.
