Hahaha
In this year's annual " we're not racists - it's all impersonators " thread :

"Has ANYONE here ever seen a Port Adelaide club official walking around at games with a "badge" pinned to their club polo?"

No - not yet - but can't wait to see how puffers are going to attach the new "major sponsor " logo to their sponsorless polo shirts !!!!

Maybe they'll spend another 1/3 of their profit and splash out with iron on logos !

Some clown immediately played the victim and bemoaned why they still weren’t looking for the Crows racist who supposedly abused Ryder......maybe because he doesn’t exist????

They surely won’t need Gray to beat Freo in rd one. It is over there so they could lose but if they’re fair dinkum they’ll pot Freo pretty easily. Betting line is Port -25.5 though which is interesting.

It depends, if Port get ahead of themselves and Freo come to play who knows? Especially if Fyfe is back.

Money well spent Port :thumbsu::drunk:

As much as i like hanging shit on Port, it's a dead-set disgrace that it costs money to have a decision reviewed.

Smacks of justice for the rich.

Piss poor from the AFL.

Was never going to be changed

Head contact + first charge under the reign of M Christian = never gonna get changed

Can't have the very first charge under a new system overturned on appeal, regardless of the evidence - not in AFL land

Yeah I’ll be looking to fade Port at the first sign of the hype being failing and we may already have seen that in JLT 1!

It's an incentive not to appeal frivolously, wasting the tribunal's time. If the appeal has merit, and is upheld, the club gets the money back. They only have to cough up if they lose the appeal.

Don't think so, the loss against West Coast has already brought them back to earth with the realisation 3 of the 4 players they brought in are all rubbish.

They'll smack Freo although I expect the Dockers to hang in for 3 qtrs.

Nah it's way better than the alternative of losing another week if the appeal is dismissed.

And the poor clubs can just get more money from the not poor clubs in equalisation tax.

Freo will be in the top eight given round one ladder position is alphabetical.

Makes it a tough game for Port.

The decision is a crap one. Sorry, but what else could he do? Yes he could have tackled, but an attempt to tackle could have lead to a clash of heads given the awkward positioning leading to more damage to McGovern. All he did was brace himself for contact and minimise the impact between the two.

A poor decision.

Do they start the season with the premiership table in alphabetical order? If that’s the case Freo will be top 8 and we all know what that means.....

We he did have a second alternative.

He could have run away from said contest.

The only reasonable thing he could have done was tackle him and give away a free.

As I said going by the interpretations of the rules nowadays he had to be suspended, but I don't believe he should have been.

A softish precedent has been set.
